Default PPP down issue on BSNL Broadband

Hi,

I am using ITI DNA-A211-I (BSNL Type - II) wireless modem. I am getting PPP down issue and havent been able to browse the net.
The BSNL technician came and inspected my modem settings. They got their regular modem and it worked fine.
They are now saying that there is a modem defect. I have hardly used the modem for 4 months and facing this issue.
Is there a setting issue in the modem which can be rectified...or I need to take it to a repair shop? Also...if you can let me know a repair shop in Hyderabad who can help me with this issue.
Thanks
Maneesh

BSNL is responsible for your modem. Ask them to replace the faulty modem with a good one. Make a request your JTO.

Thanks...I will be meeting the JTO tomorrow morning...but are you sure that there is no setting issues in the modem or at the back end (server level)?

Also...if they refuse...what other options I have?

Regards
Maneesh

If their other modem is working, it means the modem is faulty. They cannot refuse to replace. Insist on replacement.

http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...reference.html (UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference)

In the above link select No 7 and check your settings for LAN.
Then wifi.
( modem hardware pages identical )
Depending on you feedback
a software update can be tried..

If you had purchased it outright < BSNL will replace it
within a year of purchase. if on rent also replacement possible.

In computer
Start RUN type cmd OK
new window:
type ipconfig /all
Copy paste data here.

though ITI-DNA-A211-I modems are good but since its made in india and that too for bsnl its quality has been compromised, there where lots of problems with the same modem.

You used it for 4 months for me it didn't even run for 1 month.

get one more modem from somewhere else to conform that the problem is with your modem only, then take it to your exchange concerned they will check it and will replace it for sure.

You can just give a try by just updating the software for the modem.

mchopra_98 cheak your modem with another line. I mean if your friend have the bsnl line cheak with it. Some time if the line have low adsl signal then ppp down and after few minutes again it On then down again. BSNL guy dont test with same router they test with diferent router. Some modem have an signal amplifier built in the PCB. If low signal on line then this type of model dont have the problem.

It's better to cheak your router with other line or cheak from your exchange.
