Default Home networking problem!!!

There are a couple of posts here which i have seen but unfortunately were not enough to help me with my problem so i decided to post.

I have a BELKIN 7230-4 router and BSNl DSL connection which i want to share between my 3 PC's . these are the steps i have done so far

1) Removed the cable connecting the pc to the DSL modem and hooked it to the uplink Router port.
2) changed the lan settings on the pc to DHCP
3) on the router admin console setup PPPoE settings that contains the username and pwd given by the ISP.
4) cloned MAC address
5) restarted router
6) now on the router admin console it shows "connected" which according to their manual means that the router is connected to the internet.
7) ipconfig on pc shows an ip address given by the router

but when i try to dial from the PC i get an error and cannot connect.
is there anything i'am missing here?
any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

yea i should have kept the error message
unfortunately after trying a couple of things i thought of changing the firmware which should i say was a bad decision because now i cant connect to the router itself.

any ideas people?
Thanks
