Default Can BSNL make mistake in usage calculation

Last month I noticed that my download data was very high on some days. I keep a careful watch on this so as not to exceed the download limit of 8Gb on my plan. I have a router to which 4 users connect, either wired or wireless. Is it possible that BSNL may have made some mistake in calculations or that is not possible at all. If not possible at all, then can I monitor the IP addresses connecting to the router/modem??

If your usage portal shows the same what you have noticed then there is very little chance that bsnl made mistakes in calculations, i that case no one can help you.

then can I monitor the IP addresses connecting to the router/modem?
this thing is not feasible that's what i think.

Make your wireless secure if not done so, it may happen it is being used by someone else not authorized.

As prescribed, use Shaplus Bandwidth meter on your system so that you can monitor the usage. If BSNL site shows a value, we need to pay irrespective of its authenticity.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I did not see the posting for a number of hours so I thought the tread must not have been approved by the moderator for some reason. I will checkout shaplus but it may not work if it also included data transferred between the computers on the LAN.
