    Question stand alone net dialling

Hi, everyone, I am new here and I would like to know if dataone modem can be left alone without a server pc? at present I am using a proxy server but I have to shut the server down sometimes.

Please put some light on this.

    Marc.

^ I donot suggest to keep modem on for longer
durations while the pc / server is in power off mode .

Modem generates more heat in idle condition and it
ruins the Life of the modem ...

Windows Xp Pro Sp2 and the ipaddress is already assigned to bluetooth as 192.168.1.1. I did not do it but I use bluetooth dongle to transfer to mobile phones,
