Angry getting half the download speed in BSNL 500 combo plan.

i am using the BSNL 500 combo plan for sometime. however when using torrents or otherwise i don't get a speed over 900 kbps. I have already done port forwarding, changed the default DNS servers to 218.248.240.208 and 218.248.240.135.
i am unable using the MTU as 1500.
    My modem is Dlink GLB-802C.

My local line attenuation is 31.5 dB
remote line attenuation is 16.0 dB
Local SNR margin is 13.5 dB
remote SNR margin is 20.5 dB

    DSL standard is ADSL2+

However i get a constant upload rate of 511 kbps

511kbps upload rate means you are getting upload speed at 56KBps to 64KBps is that you mean.

The problem from your DSLAM port from the exchange.
Change DSL standard ADSL2+ to G.DMT
Untile you see the at least Download rate 2048kbps in your Router you dont get the 2Mbps speed.
Can you tell me what is the Upload speed shows to your Router.

For getting 2Mbps download rate you router should have 2048Kbps DL rate
Cheak the Upload rate what it's say to you.

Actually the problem from your Exchange
The DSLAM port where your connection is linked this port dosenot support 2Mbps
Your DSLAM port set to only 1Mbps DL rate. If you success to change to G.DMT you only see the speed change 891 kbps to 1024Kbps.

You can try with another Router if you have or you can get it from your friend.

I think it's better to contect with SDE or Internal DE.
If they want they can change your port speed.

Speed change 891 kbps to 1120 kbps mean you should get DL speed now 128KBps to 132KBps

    Cheak with another Router

Contact SDE or DE Internal to set your port speed to 2048Kbps
for getting upto 2Mbps download speed.

This problem is being faced by 2 more people including me. There is nothing we can do to increase speed.

    goto services.

click on NAT tab and choose NAT rule entry from NAT options.

    Now add a new rule:

    1)IF name: ALL.
    2)Rule Flavour: Port Forwarding.
    3) Protocol: Any
    4) Local IP from and to: your IP address.
    5) Destination Port from to and local port: The port you have chosen.

Also set your private default action in IP Filter tab to "Accept".

    commit and reboot.

    Try this............

    Modulation = G.DMT
Annex should be = Annex A
