Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. I have been following this forum for the last few months and found it very informative.I have joined this forum to find the solution to a peculiar problem which I have been facing from the second of this month.Before that I was having a smooth ride for the last one year with the same hardware.

The ADSL link is not established by my modem( D-Link GLB 802C) by itself.But if I keep the phone engaged then the link is established and internet is connected and I am able to browse but with highly reduced speed than what i used to experience before 2nd september.

But as soon as I disengage the phone, the internet connection and ADSL link is broken and the ADSL link doesnot establish again, hence no internet connection.But if I again engage the phone (i.e. by dialing any known number, for example my mobile number and I don't pickup my mobile, the ADSL link is established and subsequently internet connection.


I have bridged mode, BSNL Home 500plan.I used to have good connection and browsing for the last one year without any problems whatsoever.

I have checked the wires, the joins, replugged and tried everything.Changed the splitter also.Nothing seems to work. Add to it the irresponsible attitude of the local BSNL employees who have concluded that everything is fine from their end.

Please help and advice me.
