    Default Should I get my modem changed?

    I am using a bsnl broadband H500 connection for the past 3 yrs now.Previously I was using a smartax MT882 modem from BSNL but yesterday morning it was changed to Nokia siemens C2110 Type I modem as I was facing frequent disconnection problems.I am using the modem for now but the problem is that out of the 4 lights one of them doesn't flicker.

    The modem should behave like this:
    1) Red-->> power light
    2) Yellow -->> Link -->> shows the connection between modem and ISP
    3) Green -->> Data -->> will flicker when internet is working/ or data is being transferred.

    4) Green -->> PC/USB -->> shows the connection between modem and computer.

    For my case 1,2,4 are ok but the data light is not flickering though i am able to browse the internet...

    Please suggest whether I should contact them and get it replaced?

    You dont need to replaced it. It's OK and fine.
    To turn on the Data LED you have to log in from the modem through PPPoE not from your Desktop. Setup your router in PPPoE mode not the Bridge Mode and sign in from there by using your User ID and Password.

    Code:
     IF IT WORKS DON'T REPAIR !
    PARA TWO;
    Back up the present modem settings of modem to say
    C:/My Documents/ led Modem bridged

    Why don't you try in "Always On" mode ?
    Confirm all led's work when connected to Internet?
    make sure that your unit is functional in both "Bridged" and
    "Always On ' connection .

    Hope bsnl only changed your modem and i hope its not a new one, if its not a new one then there are chances that modem might have been repaired by bsnl and have been provided to you in that case it might be possible that the LED is defective try to replace you modem from bsnl or if its on rental you can fix it with a new LED.
