Default Uttorent says : Firewall is limiting your traffic

    Hi guys,
for the last 2 years i have been using uttorent and getting normal speeds as per the speeds of my plan. Also the port was accepting incoming and outgoing connections.

But suddenly today it says firewall/router is limiting your traffic, you need to open up port so that others can connect you. In addition to that my speeds also have come down to 20-25kB/s instead of normal 56-62kB/s( my plan home plan 1350)

One more point , yesterday my phone was dead for no reason, and today it is working all fine :

    Any solutions,suggestions?

    1. Have you done port forwarding

    2. Disable your firewall and check. You can later add and exception for utorrent in your firewall.

Can you attain full speed after disabling the firewall ?

    Enable upnp in utorrent preferences.

    Plz specify ur firewall.
    If its windows firewall then:
Go to utorrent>Options>Prefrences>Connection tab and then check the "Add utorrent to windows firewall exception".Click OK.

utorrent > ctrl + P > connection > Enable Enable UPnP port mapping

Which port have you assigned ? Change the port and try.

You can use any free port. I think all ports above 51,000 are definitely open by default.

Isnt it risky to dedicate a port to something, that too without firewall protection!! No1's ever faced any problem by doing this, so far?

Port forwarding is a common procedure. Most of the members have forwarded the port. But the above mentioned is the method to assign port for utorrent not forward the port.

I got the same issue (Firewall is limiting your traffic) few days back. But it was a temporary one. It lasted for few hours. The reason why you are getting such issue is that speed (DownStream Connection Speed) i.e. the connection speed of the ADSL connection from the ISP to your Router might be less.
