Thread: Night Unlimited usage

I have been using BSNL for more than a year now (Home 500 plan) but never used the night unlimited facility as I was not sure that modem has to be rebooted or not. I read about how to do this on the forum but never got down to actually working it out. SO I decided to try and see. I hibernated my computer with the modem on at 10pm. I scheduled opening of the computer at 2.05am and µTorrent was running so the download continued. In the morning I rebooted the modem before 8am just to be safe. Now the usage shows in the log but in the end column it shows zero and is also not taken into total calculation. It seems it is not necessary to reboot modem. But I just want to confirm with others if this is really OK and it should not happen that when BSNL give the bill they take into account all this usage. I wanted to attach the image of the usage but I dont know how to upload.

It will be a better practice to restart the modem at 2.05 am and 7.55 am to be on safer side.

Though there are reports that bsnl have upgraded their servers and there is no need to reboot the modem and i too have checked the same and it works.

But since its BSNL why to take chance.

DeepMohan is right. Knowing BSNL, it is wise to reboot modem a little after 2.00 am and 8.00 am. If failed, you may get a huge bills. Better not to take risk.
