hi,i got my BSNL broadband a few days before.i got UTStarcom's WA3002G4 modem/router.The Bsnl people installs the modem as auto login,so it gets connected to the internet when i switch on my pc.also i cant use the WLAN feature of this modem.when i tried to connect my friends laptop through WiFi,it only connects with the modem.there is no access to the internet.the link from the network to modem is shown with a cross mark in it.

ckeck whether wifi is on in your modem second is any security is enabled. you can check it by opening 192.168.1.1 on your pc. on wireless tab.

if it connects with wifi in laptop just try to ping 192.168.1.1. if it is windows vista then try to manually configure ip of wireless lan.

1.See this link for many helpful sites with screenshots etc.

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...reference.html (UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference)

    2. The Cheenai telephones site/s may be useful.

    3. In BSNL BB initially you get connected to internet throught the modem
( with or without wiFi Mode ) rj45 to desktop or laptop.

    4. Confirm your computer/desktop/laptop has wireless lan adapters.

    5. Then in WA3002_g4 select wireless and enter the settings.

    6. initially you can try without security key.
    7.If connection Ok
Save settings of your Modem/router/WIFI to say
    C:/My Documents/ wa3002 settings .

    8.
from the network to modem is shown with a cross mark in it.
Click and see " view available wireless Networks"
do you find any secured unsecured ?
    .
    9.
want to disable this auto login feature
    see 7 above.

See the link given above to
change settings to use a "Dialer"
Now every time you want to connect to Internet
you have to enter USERID and PW in the dialer window.

    10. Start run type cmd Ok
    New Window
    type ipconfig /all
    post copy/paste data here.

    feedback.

You must configure the modem in multiuse mode, i.e., PPPoE mode. Follow the link given by essbebe in point 1.

please be specific about whats the issue....

hope your modem is in PPPoE mode what you want in that you will have to configure your modem to Bridge mode so that you can use a dialer to get connected.
