Thread: Internet gets Disconnected-Connected Automatically

Hi..
Im using Home 1800 and I have UT Starcom Modem.

I never had this problem since an year, but since 5-6 days, this **** is happening.

My internet gets disconnected and connected automatically in 15-20 minutes.
im completely frustrated. I had setup the pppoe connection 5 months back, but after that I had formatted my system and then I never edited my settings and I just have to swmitch on my Modem everyday and it gets connected automatically.


Now, the thing is, it gets automatically disconnected and conneted in the middle and also sometime it happens that, the GREEN data light is on on the modem, but on my PC, it shows DISCONNECTED-IDENTIFYING (Vista) and then again after 5-10 minutes, it shows connected..

I know, when GREEN light goes OFF, it means, No internet. But story is, Green light shows ON, but no internet and then when I restart the modem, then it shows, GREEN light is OFF. IT seems, its just hanging, when getting disconnected. BSNL is such a bull ****.

I dont understand, who is the culprit. My PC or my Modem. Suggest me the ultimate solution to this please. This is just wasting my time..

Have you tried the RESET option in your modem.

I know, when GREEN light goes OFF, it means, No internet. But story is, Green light shows ON, but no internet and then when I restart the modem, then it shows, GREEN light is OFF.

Did u meant after restarting your modem it dont come online.... internet LED is not glowing.

It only happens, when in the middle,it gets disconnected..

Can you please post your ADSL--Statistics of your modem.

Your Attenuation (dB) is too high its just on the border it seems there is problem with your telephone line just get it checked.

Ask them to check your telephone line for faults like loop, tell them you are frequently getting disconnected.

The leading-in cable from the junction box (DP Box) to your house should be as straight as possible, should be single length without any joints and should be away from electrical lines.

Any parallel phone connections should be after the splitter and not before.

First of all get it conformed that your line is error free and its condition is good if still problem persists then it might be a problem with your port at exchange.

If you can get one modem from your friends or someone then you can just use that modem and check whether the problem is with your modem, if that too wont work then its sure that the problem is with your line or port at exchange.

If modem is faulty then bsnl will replace it anytime if its rented and if its purchased from bsnl then they will replace it if its within one year.

yes, Internet is connected in my room first then it goes to the top floor to my bedroom. Yes, it has gone from a joint and then splitter from my modem room.
Is that some problem ??
And shall I ask the BSNl guys to check the line from DP box to my house perfctly for one line, rather than any shitty joints ??
