Go to portforward.com, select your modem from the list, select your torrent client from the list, follow the tutorial.

How much is maximum direct download speed you get, approximately that much speed you can get in healthy torrents. For this you must do port forwarding in your router. Search this forum to find out how to forward port.

Open DNS cannot increase download speed. But it can make page loading faster.

I think you meant to say 100-120kBps because nobody generally gets 200 kbps using IDM on Homeplan500c.
Firstly specify the number of seeders you are getting for the torrent.
Try downloading more than one torrent (with good number of seeders) if the torrent is not a private one.
I think your port is forwarded properly if you are getting 100-120 kBps(if you meant kBps and not kbps)

In case of direct downloads it is true that Open DNS does not increase the speed(but only decrease the loading time).
But I think in case of torrents it might slightly increase the speed because in torrent download the list of seeders keeps on changing and software constantly needs to contact the tracker site.So with Open DNS it can contact the sites more quickly.

    Increase your TCP/IP connections.....
use a good downloader like Flashget and only download that torrents tahtt have seeders in high ratio.
