Angry Stupid BSNL Charged me in the Night Free Period. What to do??

    Hi...
I had no such problems in the past, but I just got stunned to see my usage details.
I have Home 1800 Plan and Night 2am-8am is free for this plan.

Have a look at my Usage Screenshot.
They have charged me 2 nights for this night period. Am I right ??

Can I show this to them and sue their officials now ??

Let me know, if im correct or not and if they have done this wrong or not.. I have to get them on knees tomorrow.

I have been extra charged with around 3GB of data transfer. I gonna kill BSNL ..

To enjoy the 2 am to 8 am free usage you have to restart your modem/router at about 2.05 am and 7.55 am else it wont be counted as free usage.

There where reports that bsnl have upgraded their servers and now there is no need to restart the modem/router, for some it worked it worked for me too but why to take risk.

Since its BSNL why to take risk example is here that too from your screen shot only, you used it till 10.40.05AM and the usage is counted as free.

Well, I knew this, but it never happened before..
And do you see, how they have charged me those 2 nights ??

Im going to go tomorrow to their server room and kick them and show this and ask them to add that 3 GB to my 10 GB limit this month.

Hope you are from B'lore, else for their server room you will have to travel B'lore that is NIB.

If not then try a luck with your exchange concerned, though you are help less.

    Not from Bangalore.
Yes, main server room is at bangalore. But I can complain and get it reset or added. Anyhow , this needs to be fixed, since the proof is on my hands..

Use this software to automatically reboot your modem at desired timings. You can sleep while it happens.

A written complaint to the Nodal officer and Appellate authority may help. Address and phone no on the backside of your bill.

BSNL always insist that for a session to count as free BOTH start time and end time must be in the free time zone.
But still lodge a formal conplaint and keep your finfures crossed.

dont restart @ 2 am, wait for 10-15 min then restart. Remember, ur system time and server time never match...
see... night unlimited means 2 to 8 am, but *CONDITIONS APPLY

    take care next time

Default i think it is right

As they had charged all data usage that u had started before 2am and not charged after the 2am. It will be compensate in that usage they are not charged you data usage from 8am to 10am on 12-09-2009 in nonfree hrs.
you can calculate yourself data usage in free hrs and during nonfree hrs by simply dividing total data during that period by total number of minutes so you get data usage per minute.then multiply it by total number of minute in free hr and nonfree hr and compare it with total usage and also include data that is not chargerd to you in this calculation.
if this is not matching with chargeble usage data or chargeble data is higher than ur calculation then you have to kick on ass of bsnl officer.
