    Default configuring modem...Urgent

    Hi to all
    first of all
many many Thanks for your previous suggestions
& i happily purchased home plan 750 UL

    so,
Bsnl Lineman came to my home for the set-up
he did everything, but unfortunately there was electricity power -off
    so it was half done...
now he'll come by his own busy schedule..three days later
but for me its urgent ...hence forumming this through net-cafe right now...

please can anybody suggest how to configure a modem for the connection

After connecting Modem & telephone line
    as said by the Lineman
    i went to http://192.168.1.1
then typed username & password correctly as admin & admin
then after clicking Advance Setup then clicking WAN
    then clicking "Add" button
Then keeping default values of VPI =0 , VCI =35
    and then clicking Next
i found.... this is not sufficient

    and another thing is
what should be the lan-TCP properties at the time of configuration
    for Home plan750 UL
    is it
    1] automatically detect
    OR 2] DNS : 61.1.96.69 & 61.1.96.71
    OR 3] DNS : 218.248.255.146 & 218.248.255.139

    Dear all...please please Help

Either read it by heart or take a print out ( it is only one page long) so that you can refer when required. First select your modem and confirm that it is in the list.

From the above screenshot I dont see your Upstreem and Dowstreem rates. Cheak your line have the ADSL signal.
Do you put your user ID and password in the router. You have to put your user ID and password in the router to log in from router.

Go to Device Info -- WAN
Cheak what it say, Is it say PPPOE is down.

Have you gone through the settings guide provided by just4kix...?

Pages will be different but the basic things are same only.

After page 3 refer page 7 for PPPoE setup.

Read a few guides in the "Broadband How To" section. That should help you quite a bit.

Your speed is too low for a 2 mbps connection. Check your SNR margin from the modem status page.

    Your speed is very low.

    1. Try a different server and test the speed

    2. Post your SNR and attenuation values

    Procedure:

Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser, click enter, ID and password admin.

    3. Try TCP/IP optimizer from speedguide.net
