Rep Power: 1 | I have been having BSNL broadband connection, Business 700 for the past 5 years in my office. The office has a desktop near the reception, and has UTStarcom UT300R2U router for broadband, a Linksys wireless router thru which we connect our laptops to the desktop and the internet, and a Linksys broadband firewall router (VPN) thru which I connect to our main server kept elsewhere via internet. Recently, the router was replaced ( with another UT300R2U modem ). Since then, we are unable to browse the internet at the desktop near the receptionist, but the same desktop is able to connect to the VPN via internet, and also using Skype on the desktop is possible. Thru the wireless our laptops are able to both connect to the VPN, as well as browse the net. The router is configured in bridge mode, as the VPN requires it. A similar problem had occured when the 1st UT300R2U router was installed, and a helpful technical person at BSNL sorted it out. This time, the person available there is unable to figure it out. Please help!. Thanks in advance. |

| Platinum Member | It is quite possible that you have assigned a manual TCP/IP address to the computer in problem. It may have worked in the past but may have changed since then. Or, there could be a simple case of hardware/cable fault also. Please do what superprash has recommended. But post the details (especially 'ipconfig') from the computer that is able to connect to internet and the one that is *not* connecting.

Rep Power: 12 | The UT300R2U model supplied to 5 years back and now recently given will be different. 1.In the Desktop LAN1 which does not connect to Internet try: Start /Network/ LAN properties Network settings page select TCP/IP properties Enable " assign IP address automatically" Apply Save. 2. If not working post ipconfig /all for both computers as suggested above. procedure Computer ( reception) Not connected Start RUN type cmd OK New window type ipconfig /all Copy/paste data here. 3. similar step for computer In Lan2 or Lan3 getting connected to Internet. Copy/paste data. 4. If Skype can connect ( computer reception) modem's access control page may be checked. |
