Check in "Broadband How to ........" forum.
Guides by @just4kix for Ut300r2 and wif router/s
    may be referred.
    basically,
    1.
you should use ppp/PPPoE "Always On"
connection ( your USERID PW entered in WAN page of Modem)
    2.
    Ensure Internet connection is OK.
    3.
use the Wizard to set your Netgear WIFI router.
    4.
After ensuring MT882 is properly set up, remove the RJ45
cable from computer end and connect to WAN/Internet port in Netgear.
    5.
Use another RJ45 from LAN1 to computer and check
    Internet is working OK.
    6.
    Then try for WIFI settings.
    Feedback if any problem.
    Procedure
    START RUN type cmd OK.
    New window opens
    TYPE ipconfig /all
    Copy/Paste data here.
    Please do not edit.

Check the first link in my signature. You will find links to many useful guides.

    You have three options:

    a) Both, MT882 and WGT624 in bridge mode and using a windows dialer. Only one computer can connect to the internet this way. Least recommended.

b and c) Either MT882, or WGT624 in bridge mode and the other in PPPoE mode.

Check the links by essbebe also.

The steps may sound like too many. But unless you jump in the water, you can't swim.

Once you get the hang of modem/router setup, you will wonder later what the fuss was all about anyway.

Default configuring MT882 and Netgear WIFI router: "newbie"

    @sergei
Anyway i seem to have set up the modem.
    1.

Confirm you can connect to Internet with
    ONLY MT882 modem .
    2.
one Error 623 (Cannot load dialog, system could not find phonebook entry for this connection) is playing havoc with my repeated attempts.

IF you are . using "Dialer" mode.
( you enter ID and PW in computer window )
    Delete the dialer .
Use Always On" PPP/PPPoE. seems you are using this MODE NOW.
    3.
    I am using MT882/Vonage/Netgear614V6
and can access all the settings pages.
    for MT882 or Beetel110BX /Vonage unit/Netgear wifi router.
Depending on your feed back step by step
    instructions can be given.
see this link with screen shots.

    thanks,
    the modem is working fine.
it is the next step with the Netgear router that is a problem, it does not acquire internet. It keeps flickering and does not stabilize and i can't get to the wizard to set it up.
    Still puzzled. thanks for helping.

Your post , seems to suggest that you cannot do the setup for WIFI yourself.
If it is so please confirm.
We have taken even a week to get the set up going, for some other members , and it all depends on your feedback data.

sergei bridge the router MT882 with 0/35
Connect MT882 lan port to Netgear wireless router's WAN port with RJ45 cable
Set PPPoE in Netgear wireless router with your user ID and password.
Connect with another RJ45 cable to your computer LAN port to Netgear wireless router lan port.
Cheak internet is working or not
If everything fine then set up your wireless connection in your router and your wireless Lan card.
If any problem you face call an expert to set up your seetings.
