I dont think anyone who downloads pirated stuff from p2p networks is safe be it anypart of the world.
India has pretty similar piracy laws but the only thing which keeps indians safe is the extent of ine that can be imposed. As we al know a Court would do fines of a shamefull amount like 500rs for a damadge worth millions.
Any judgment passed by USA courts for motion picture association of america means nothing in India coz Indian people are governed by the laws of India and any ruling in states doesnt mean that you get the same judgment.
If MPAA wants to take action against some one in India they will have to file a case against the individual at an Indian court of law which will take 200 years to get to a result so hope you get an over all idea of what the stand isif any.
Microsoft bowed its head down for India and China as they dont want India and China people to go towards Linux so they dont bother people who have pirated operating systems. So do your own maths now and have fun.
PS: I am not trying to say that carry on with piracy I am just trying to explain what is goin on and what my view is on legal concequences.
I hate piracy myself and would like every one not to use p2p networks and once every one stops I will stop aswell![]()
ya i get it....even i will stop using it after everyone stops using it(including u).....![]()
hmmm...
i will stop it some time later....now i have to download lots of stuff....lol
Well I agree with Mr. Admin here as for a simple example p2p downloading is just like commuting through trains in sleeper class compartments for short distances without valid tickets in which an legal action can be taken if the authority wants but generally doesn't happen
WoW I am happy to see what I wrote 3 years agostill hold true

MPAA/RIAA have realized that they cannot stop P2P piracy. So they are going after the tracker sites.
They raided TPB and other Swedish trackers some time ago. But from what I am seeing is a resurgence of all Swedish trackers. Even the trackers which were forcibly shut down are beginning to re-born.
Infact I just read a news/blog that once piratebay shuts down in august, there are plans in motion to export all TPB torrents to new open source bittorrent tracker. Its being called the "new new bittorrent".
read this: OpenBitTorrent Tracker Muscles In On The Old Pirate Bay | TorrentFreak
Still have 100 GB worth of TV series to do from Pirate Bay :48: any idea if Mininova / eztv.it / superfundo.org , are going offline / becoming legal :taz:
Tracker sites are claiming that they are not doing anything illegal - it is the users that are doing it. The respective law authorities may ask them to remove the trackers (for pirated stuff) to make the sites legal.
Who are the dicks who hide behind such complicated names as RIAA . Do they sell something else to the general public ? Would they buckle under a consumer boycott? Ignorance Ignorance Ignorance
People pay up the $3000 to "settle" just because of the ridiculous cost of a defense in the "justice" system in the land of the "free'

This is what I call a work of art.Anyone who is worried will get relaxed after seeing this thread.Everybody come and post a comment. Don't spread neagetive thoughts though.
nice thread necro dico.
anyway no one cares about piracy in India/China.
You have to remember that our part of the world is largely ignored by the west. Our irrelevance is so tragic that microsoft secretly encourages piracy here lolz.
