Unhappy No direct connection

I have a 256k ul+ connection,in Ghaziabad. I received a UT-300R2U router from bsnl. The problem that I am facing is that I have to create a dialer in network connections, and then dial to connect. Also,my router cannot connect through the Lan card. I currently have it connected through the usb port. Can anyone tell me how to configure my router so it connects directly, when I switch on th comp?
I am using winXP SP2+updates.

A dsl connection will need dialing as and when you want to connect you cant make it work like a always on cable connection unfortunately but I am sure our members here will have some solution for you and I would like to hear aswell.

I am sure that UT-300R2U can be connected directly
thru LAN card (assuming that modem/LAN card is not
faulty) . for details pls see : configuration
if you have any problems pls post here with details .

Question

I cannot even get my connection configured through the LAN card. The router config page at 192.168.1.1 does not open. Currently my router is working through usb. Through the usb connection, the router config page opens at 192.168.1.2
I configured the router's wan settings, and set pvc_0 to pppoE,entering my username and password. All the others are set to bridge mode. But I cant get it to connect using the connect button(under Tools/PPP).
Also, everytime I turn off the modem, my changes are lost.
Can anything be done??

config page at 192.168.1.1 ? after the changes , did
you save & restart the router ? any error message ...
