    Arrow Low SNR margin

I am using BSNL combo 500 plan.
I have checked my modem's stats and it shows that:
    SNR margin(db): 5.4 downstream
    : 17.5 upstream
    Attenuation : 49.0 downstream
    : 28.9 upstream
I have a new connection and getting a good speed(~1.9Mbps)
Can these values effect my downloading speed or connectivity in future?

    Any comments will be helpful.
    Thanx in advance

Your SNR downstream margin(db) is very low 5.4
It will good if it's show 10db.
poor SNR cause of frequent disconnect of DSL
Keep cheaking the SNR. If it will show some time 10db or above to 30db then it's good.

    Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR)

The SNR should be higher than 20 though anything above 10 is just enough.

The Attenuation should be as low as possible. But if the attenuation starts going higher than 40 and SNR going down below 10, it is time to complain about the line condition.

    Check the Wires

The leading-in cable (drop wire) from the junction box (DP box) to your house should be as straight as possible, should be of a single length without any joints. The wires should not be coiled anywhere and should be away from electrical lines. With these types of irregularities, i.e with joints or coiled or near power cables, your phone might work fine but the DSL link may not hold and work satisfactorily.

As you know my SNR margin is low & line attenuation is high, so should i make a complaint to BSNL service centre?

    What will they actually do?

Actually my line wire is new(as i have new connection), so can they help me sort it out?

Complain about your line condition to the lineman concerned ask them to check out of faults like loops... etc.
