Default Limited or no connectivity (WA3002-g1)-No valid IP from DHCP

I have a BSNL broadband connection (unlimited 900) with ADSL Modem (WA3002-g1). The router is configured for wireless internet by bsnl personnel. I have two desktops and one laptop. Both the desktops connect to the router automatically through wireless and get internet simultaneously but not my laptop.
Both the desktops have winxp pro Sp3 installed and my HP laptop comes with winxp home with sp3 installed.

I get limited or no connectivity error with my HP DV2000 15" laptop if i try. The wireless is set to obtain IP and DNS automatically. I get internet if i connect by LAN. The DHCP does not allot an IP to my laptop by wireless (i.e., no 192.168.x.x.) i get only 169.254.139.212 If if give a static IP along with DNS this message goes off and shows connected. But no internet.
    pinging 192.168.1.1 (default gateway) fails.

The wireless adapter in laptop is intel PRO/wireless 3945ABG network card. I have the intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility Installed. I have even updated the drivers to may, 2009.
I dont think there is any problem with router setting as my two desktops are getting internet and DHCP is allotting IP address instantly. Some of the settings in my laptop may be wrong or goofedup.

    Here are my IP settings:
    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

The error message shown by the Intel wireless utility is "The wireless adapter failed to get a valid IP address:.

I tried my best to check the configuration but nothing worked. Please help.
    Regards.

Default Limited or no connectivity (WA3002-g1)-No valid IP from DHCP

    Dear essbebe,
Thank you very much for your response.

First let me confirm that the two desktops are connected independantly in wireless mode and not in lan mode as both desktops are in standalone systems.

In all computers (desktops and my laptop) all are configured to obtain IP address automatically.

The manual you gave was excellent and extremely useful. I tried to reconfigure the router using the settings in manual.

    3) Click on Interface Setup --> Internet
3-I) Select Virtual Circuit as PVC 0
    Select Status 'Activated'
Type VPI 0 and VCI 32
    Select ISP as PPPoA/PPPoE
Type Telephone No as username and CA No (Subscriber No) as
    password
    Select Encapsulation as PPPoE LLC
    3-II) Type TCP MSS : 1360 Bytes
Type TCP MTU : 1492 Bytes
    Click on Save

I got the following error message on clicking save.

ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE DUE TO... Duplicate to a VPI/VCI !

Kindly help how to resolve this issue.

    With regards.

In router, there is option to allow how many MAX connections are possible. check that. not sure whats the exact text. Just seen it today on my friends router page.
