Default Modem Pass-word

Dear Friends,

I am a user of BSNL Dataone 900 Home-UL since August, 06. Speed is 256 kbps. I have configured the modem and changed the default pass-word after installation.

Now the authorities say; they have instructions from top that the password should be kept secret and not to be revealed to the customers of HOME-UL-900 scheme.

Is it a rule of BSNL followed in India wherever BSNL broad band service is provided ? All those who are using the above scheme may respond.

Thanks.

^ we come across this query on different community forums .
few users from different Locations are reporting this . And I
personally feel that you need not surrender the password .

Dataone unlimited connections are port binded at many
Locations . i.e. unlimited account works only thru the
concerned phone connection . others cannot use it .

some of the BSNL Exchanges cannot rely on this port
binding ; hence they are trying to hide unlimited a/c 's
passwords .

If BSNL insists to surrender the password then ask
the CRO at Local Exchange to show the orders . &
take official receipt that you have surrendered it .

I never cam across any Order of BSNL where they said that we now need to surrender our password. I would never do that and suggest you the same. Please confirm with the authorities once again.
