Rep Power: 1 | i have a modem with wi-fi facility. i havent yet changed the default user-id and password provided to me at the time of connection. is it possible that any stray laptop within the range of the wi fi modem can access my net connection? wont they need the user id then? |

Rep Power: 12 | 1.You cannot change your USERID given by BSNL to connect to Internet. 2. If you had not enabled WIreless settings in your modem/router , no problem. 3.If you had set wiFi for your own use laptop etc ensure you use a security key. 4. Click the wifi icon in your task bar and select "View available wireless networks " Yours should appear secured etc. 5. You have not mentioned your modem/model/make. Refer this link for reference/s wireless security etc. http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post208783 (UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference) |
