It is not possible. The line may be port binded. You can try accessing your id and password from the Home 250 connection. If it is not port binded, you can access it.

You can connect in Bridge mode so that you can change the password with ease. Even if you change the password inside router, you wont be able to access the other connection if there is port binding in place.

In the WAN setting of your modem, there will be an option to choose from Bridge or PPPoE mode. In that simply select bridge mode. You can save the trouble by directly changing the password in the router itself.

many many thanks for reply dilip

    this is so....important to me.....

here in my ealier home, i'm always getting
well over 80 kbps downloading file speed.....very happily
and many times it is incredibly high like 160 kbps
and that's for 250 home plan

amazingly on the contrary side ,
in my new home with 750 UL plan ,
    getting average speed 15 kpbs
& i read in this forum ...that it'll not be exceed more than 32 kbps for 750 UL plan

as i really need this super high speed connection with 250 plan

    1. Will this "bridge mode" give enough speed like 50 kbbps

    and

    2. is it like dial-up where telephone line engaged & thereby calls charged

    please..... Help

Bridge mode is similar to PPPoE mode. You cannot get anything more than you get in PPPoE mode (32 KBps). But in Bridge mode we input ID and password. Only benefit is that we can change the password without accessing the modem.

Please consider a plan change to Home 500, 500C or 500 C+. They give good speed and have night unlimited.

In the 3rd screen shot, under type, select Bridged instead of PPPoE from the drop down menu.

Once you select Bridged, those box will fade. If not, enter your username and password.

Your use is like user name in username@bsnl.in. Password in normally password. Instead of creating a new connection try to modify the existing connection as Bridged.

Search for any modem guide (refer the sticky post in the "BB How to" section). This should tell you how to setup the modem in bridge mode.

    On the main topic:

    a) I think that all exchanges in Pune have implemented port binding
    b) Port binding in simple terms means that the BB./internet connection is tied to your landline number
    c) Since you have two homes, you cannot alternate between the two BB connections.

I am pretty confident that you will not be able to access the one BB connection from other place and vice versa.

Bridge or PPPoE is just a method of connection. Read this:

    LOL, rahul.

What you want and what is possible, are two different things, unfortunately.

    indeed mate ....totally agree

hey .... can this router Huawei WA 1003a (may be Type II)

be used to get higher speed
compared to my new home router Starcom UT-300 R2U (Type I)

    means rather alternating BB connections....
what about the idea of alternating the modems
to get high speed for 750 UL plan

    please please help

Whatever you do the maximum possible speed will be 32 KBps for UL 750.
