Default Problem with Beetel 220BX modem configuration

    Hello,

I tried configuring my Beetel 220BX modem for BSNL broadband internet connection. I first entered the IP Adress, subnet mask, Primary/secondary DNS server details during TCP / IP configuration. After that, for configuring my modem, I opened the browser and logged on to hhtp://192.168.1.1. A window (DSL Router) popped up asking for username and password, for which I entered admin and admin respectively. But it is not accepting this username / password combination. Could anyone please help me in solving this problem,

    Thanks and best regards,
    Guru.

    1.
    Option 1
    For Beetel series modems routers
    UserID admin
    Password : password
    ( default )

    2.

    Option 2 :
    Start RUN type cmd Ok
    Type ipconfig /all
    The default gateway is Modem's.

    3.
    Option 3
    select Obtain IP address automatically
    Apply Save.
    Recheck Modem gateway.

    4.
    Option 4:
Reset modem with power on for 20 to 30 seconds.
Factory defaults will be admin and password.

    5.Option 5:Access Control -- Passwords
Access to your DSL router is controlled through three user accounts: admin, support, and user.

The user name "admin" has unrestricted access to change and view configuration of your DSL Router.

The user name "support" is used to allow an ISP technician to access your DSL Router for maintenance and to run diagnostics.

The user name "user" can access the DSL Router, view configuration settings and statistics, as well as, update the router's software.
    Usually for all above UserID's
    default password is : password.

    Hi Essbebe,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions and all your previous postings on configuring the Beetel modem for BSNL internet. Now, I am able to browse the net.
But now, I am facing another problem. I am actually having trouble in accessing many websites like microsoft.com, symantec.com, mcafee.com, etc. I get the error message - "DNS error - cannot find server". Can you please give me your inputs on this,

    Thanks a lot,
    Guru.

    Default ipconfig log file

    Hi Essbebe,

I have attached the output of ipconfig /all command (as a bmp attachment).
I tried your other suggestions. The MTU as per the current setting is 1492.
I still am not able to access some web-sites due to the DNS Error. Your help is very much appreciated,

    Thanks,
    Guru

    Default link LED not blinking

I had tried it but still my link LED not blinking. I will post my snapshots soon.
I guess the whole problem is because link LED not blinking. Am i right?
    Now i have a question:
    1. Is the setting of the modem's WAN setting mandatory to get the link LED blink?

Thumbs up LINK LED doenot blink - issue resolved

First i would like to thank essbebe.....
i tried most of essbebe suggestions and others thru which i could resolve the issue.
i had multiple problems in configuring my BEETEL 110BX1 adsl2 modem [which i got from AIRTEL] for BSNL broad band .

Issue:After configuring my modem for BSNL [VCI/VPI 0/35 ,TR-069 clientisable ,ACCESS CONTROL :select all] , i couldn't get the LINK LED blink.and so couldn't connect to internet.

This is what i have done to resolve the issue:

    1.Ping 192.168.1.1
    Got ping failed .error 65.
    Removed ZONE ALARM firewall
    Ping 192.168.1.1 was successful
    2.LINK LED doesn't blink
Tried to connect my modem on my friends machine [with his credentials]who has BSNL connection.
    LINK LED was blinking
Called BSNL once again to confirm my broadband was provided fully.
After little talk they admitted that connection was not fully provided to me and assured to correct it after a day.
Next day i could get LINK LED link.
Wait .. this is not the end
3.I got 404 error when browsing.
changed the network connection to get "obtain ip addrs and DNS server automatically"
    Now i could browse at 2MBPS [actually 1.4MBPS ]
    4.THE END

    3. You'll have options to add or remove configurations.

    4. Please select and remove the bridge config as BSNL does not support Bridge.

    5. Please click edit on the existing PPPoE Airtel Configuration

    6. Set the VPI=0 and VCI=35 (for Airtel it would be 1,32) and click next

    7. Select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and encapsulation type: LLC/Snap Bridging and click next

    8. Enter the following details:

PPP Username: Your bsnl username (no need to add dataone.in)

    PPP Password: Your bsnl password

    PPPoE Service Name: DataOne

    Authentication Method: Select CHAP

    Enable Fullcone NAT : Enable

    MTU [1000-2000]: 1452

    Click Next

    9. Check the Enable IGMP Multicast Option

    Check Enable NAT

    Check Enable WAN Service Option

Enter the Service Name as BSNL

    10. Click Next and Save. You should also save and reboot your modem.

And Lo... you can now browse through BSNL broadband!!
