Default Configuring Beetel 220BX with BSNL dataone

    Hai Everybody,
I use a zebronics ADSL modem for dataone internet connection. Due to some problem i cant use the modem. I also have a Beetel 220BX adsl modem with me. I tried to config the modem. But i could not. Also I tried to reset and config it newly. But all in vain. I use BSNL 900 ul+ plan. Also i use ethernet cable to connect. Can anyone guide me to config the modem(Beetel 220BX for dataone broadband) from the reset level.
    Thanxs
    With regards
    Manoj

I have a step to step method as of how you can configure your Beetel 220BX modem for BSNL Broadband....

    1. First login to your Router using default username and password

    2. Click on WAN on the left side menu

    3. You'll have options to add or remove configurations.

    4. Please select and remove the bridge config as BSNL does not support Bridge.

    5. Please click edit on the existing PPPoE Airtel Configuration

    6. Set the VPI=0 and VCI=35 (for Airtel it would be 1,32) and click next

    7. Select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and encapsulation type: LLC/Snap Bridging and click next

    8. Enter the following details:

PPP Username: Your bsnl username (no need to add dataone.in)

    PPP Password: Your bsnl password

    PPPoE Service Name: DataOne

    Authentication Method: Select CHAP

    Click Next

    9. Check the Enable IGMP Multicast Option

    Check Enable WAN Service Option

Enter the Service Name as BSNL

    10. Click Next and Save. You should also save and reboot your modem.

And Lo... you can now browse through BSNL broadband!!

Default tried but does not work on my beetel modem

    Hi,

I tried the detailed steps you have provided to use beetel 220bx for bsnl broadband but does not work. The only thing i did different was to delete the existing airtel configuration, but i created the new one in the way you have specified. Please let me know if any other settings are to be changed apart from the ones in the wan, like the dsl settings, etc.

    Thanks,
    Veera

    Hi,
After doing all the steps given, when i check on the WAN status link, it shows "Authentication Failure". I called the BSNL help line to re-set the password but I am still getting the same error. Is there something else which needs to be done?

Open IE type 192.168.1.1/main.html Id admin Password : password
    Menu : advanced : Diagnostics :
    Check where is the problem.
Or call BSNL to reset the password, if you have configured the modem correctly.

    Default diagnostic screen for beetel

    Hi Essbabe,

    Thefollowing items show PASS status:
    1) test your enet connection
    2) Test ADSSl sync
    3) Test auth with ISP
    4) Ping primary dns

Everything else is in FAIl status with the exception of the USB connection which shows DOWN since I am not using it.

I just now tried to program Beetel220Bx (adsl2+modem) for Dataone for another member (arindan_b )here. It is working fine.
Instead of automatic DNS,1> I unchecked it and entered OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 :
    User name : essbebe ( No @dataone)
Password: xxxxxxx VPI 0 VCI 35 rest almost no change.
.In computer TCP/IP properties select Assign IP address and DNS automatically.
I will post the screen shots in another thread here . by this evening. Please bear with me.
Usually any modem should work with any ISP.

Thanks. Will try this and get back to you. Any settings required in the Advanced set up pages?

In the default page, against WAN status, I am getting Authentication Failure so far. I have called up the help desk and got my password re-set; so it can not be a username/password related issue.

One more thing to ask.. can you please give a step by step screenshot starting from the above (WAN Setup...clicking Edit button)? I know it is too much to ask.. and it takes considerable amount of time and effort for you.. but if it is possible.. I will be ever greatful
My device info shows 192.168.1.1 for both primary and secondary DNS

called "core binding" in which they lock all user ids. After
some time, the ids are released. However, it appears that
the release process is manual and they "forget" to release
some numbers. This can not be done from the BSNL Dataone help desk

India unlike other countries in the world ( Germany, US) will land on revolution based on internet on mobile. India has a huge potential for mobile based internet. New and new business models will come up like search and adsense on mobiles. I have described my study on comparison between PC and mobile based search in indian context in my blog

Exclamation Tried Beetel modem but not fully functional

    Hello,
I configured Beetel modem for DataOne connection. But it has a difference than the UTStarcom modem which is given by BSNL. Beetel require to provide DNS address to be given instead of automatically acquire the same. And the modem keeps on connecting and disconnecting. I dont know why should I give DNS for Beetal model but not for UTstarcom. Both are ADSLmodems.

Please let me know why cant I use same configuration as BSNL modem for Beetel modem?

You are getting ping repply ?...but no browsing if so ,
test your DNS by pinging it ( which you entered in modem) can use (change in modem or in pc ) 61.1.96.69 and 61.1.96.71 or use open dns.

try entering ip address manually ..go to control panel->network connections->local area connection properties->tcp/ip properties-> and enter ip as 192.168.1.4 .. and gateway as 192.168.1.1 .. now you shouldnt see limited connectivity.. and you should be able to access your modem at 192.168.1.1

It is OK. For BSNL Diagnostics page .
For Airtel OAM also will show pass.
You can connect to Internet now.
If any problem (see the thread earlier postings by me page 1 or 2 )
Start/ RUN type cmd type ipconfig/all post data here.

Default Beetel Modem with Beetel Splitter not working for BSNL

I have configured Airtel Beetel 220BX modem for BSNL and it is working fine. I followed the steps mentioned here. I am using the splitter provided by the BSNL. But when i change the splitter to Beetel(provided by airtel), there is no signal and the LED's are also not glowing.
I have only set up the PPPoE connection. Did I miss anything or I need to change the splitter. Please help.

    Thanks,
    Anand

Splitter may be malfunctioning. If you already have a splitter that is working, there is no reason to change it or buy a new one.

    Check rj11 cables connected properly.
"Funjin "( BSNL) splitter ports are not same.
    (reverse)
line ====>>> adsl (left) & phone ( right port )

    "beetel" Adsl splitter ( white)
UP " beetel" name left to right
adsl port ( left) LIne ( right )==>PHONE ( singleport)

Using same splitter for the past two years,
for both Airtel and Bsnl BB.
You can/should use the spare for an extension phone
in another room ( if Phone line is concealed wiring )

Default Configuring Beetel 200BX for BSNL

    Hi all,

I'm trying to configure ppoe for beetel modem but unable to complete getting error in Diagnostics:

Test the connection to your DSL service provider:
    -------------------------------------------
    Test ADSL Synchorization: PASS
Test ATM OAM F5 segment ping: FAIL
Test ATM OAM F5 end-to-end ping: FAIL
    -------------------------------------------

Test the connection to your Internet service provider:
    -------------------------------------------
    Test PPP Server connection: FAIL
    Test authentication with ISP: PASS
Test the assigned IP Address: FAIL
    Ping Default gateway: PASS
    Ping primary DNS: PASS
    -------------------------------------------

AND ALSO WHEN IN CHECK THE WAN CONNECTION UNDER DEVICE INFO IT SHOWS AS :

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0/35-off -1 -UBR -BSNL -ppp_0_0_35_1 -ppoE -Enabled -Disabled -Enabled -Up -59.92.134.117(Disconnect)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have also done the same setting as mentioned :
    -------------------------------------------------------
    1. First login to your Router using default username and password

    2. Click on WAN on the left side menu

    3. You'll have options to add or remove configurations.

    4. Please select and remove the bridge config as BSNL does not support Bridge.

    5. Please click edit on the existing PPPoE Airtel Configuration

    6. Set the VPI=0 and VCI=35 (for Airtel it would be 1,32) and click next

    7. Select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and encapsulation type: LLC/Snap Bridging and click next

    8. Enter the following details:

PPP Username: Your bsnl username (no need to add dataone.in)

    PPP Password: Your bsnl password

    PPPoE Service Name: DataOne

    Authentication Method: Select CHAP

    Click Next

    9. Check the Enable IGMP Multicast Option

    Check Enable WAN Service Option

Enter the Service Name as BSNL

    10. Click Next and Save. You should also save and reboot your modem.

And Lo... you can now browse through BSNL broadband!!

    @yogesh
if you really want to know how good BSNL is .. its best to ask people around you who use it .. As in some areas they have really bad server and customer support .. whereas in other areas , its really good!!

    Post Different version

Thanks for trying to help me.

It seems it has different Software and Firmware versions than yours.

But still I tried as you suggested. But ADSL link is still down. There is no problem with the connection because I am used UltraStarcom Router before.

Please see the version information as well as my router settings.

Please follow this web site settings
    as shown in screen shots.
enter your Id without @ bsnl.in

Select 0_35 link in WAN page and click EDIT

Please don't worry about firmware software versions modem model etc
    1.For ALWAYS ON" PPP/PPPoE mode.

    2. For dialer mode " bridged " wanminiport.

The little I know about Dataone Broadband Services offered by BSNL

    If still problem :
    Post data:

Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

    feedback.

    suggestion 1.
    wan settings2 page.
Just try authentication AUTO , instead of CHAP.

    Para two:
    If still "NoGo"
    type 192.168.1.1/main.html
    Advanced settings menu should appear.
    http://i23.tinypic.com/nlpdhs.jpg
    Click WAN
    proceed as usual.
    after finishing
    click LAN make entries.
    then
Save REBOOT. wait for two minutes.

    Feed back.

    Para three:
presume on top left above menu showing AUTO is for Language selection
    English or Chinese.

1.You should answer specifically, whether you tried
    what is suggested .

2.Can easily suggest Firmware update, but trying to
    confirm, whether it is needed.

3.Also if anything goes wrong you will have a
    modem beyond repair.

    4. what is the model /make of your Utstar modem ?
