    Refer this for Wireless security

Use Additional MAC address restricted Wireless Security

You can get your User ID from your router WAN Setup Page. If in PPPoE Mode.

    Go to

    http://192.168.1.1/

Advanced SetUp > (WAN) Wide Area Network Setup

select the entry with VPI/VCI: 0/35 Click EDIT.

Click NEXT > NEXT > PPP Username: (this will be your user ID)

Thanks a lot for your brief and useful answer.
but still one point to clear. I saw the password is there in the WAN setting. How do I know this password. My intention is to set my own password. I suppose exsiting password is set default by the ISP.
pls. guide me how can I set my new password so that my WAN connection become secure. Last month I got unexpected bill which was not at all proportionate. I want to stop probable use of my account by some unwanted.

    1. UserID and PW for logging to Internet.
    ( ask your Exchange)
from your post it appears you are "ALWAYS ON" PPP/PPPoE mode, wherein the userid and PW are entered in the WAN page.
You can find the PW entered, but better to ask the Exchange.
    2. A 14digit usage Portal ID and default PW
    Password. Get it from Exchange.

Check your usage at BSNL Portal
    3. An email IDE and Password . different to 1 and 2 above.
    Get it from exchange.

Para TWO: in WIFI no one can normally access your Internet connection , without knowing the security key.

    Question

hi essbebe regarding 1) password(which i an not able to guess some 9 letter) should be collected from wxchange ?
regarding 2) u want to mean that only 14digit id will be provided by exchange?
regarding 3) what is actually email IDE and password? why it is required?
thanks for ur reply. also suggest if something else related matter I need to know.

also tell me how to change the password or how to replce the old pssword?
after the new password is set, can I change the wan protocol from ppoe to 'bridge' , so that I get a prompt for inputing my userid and password to start internet everytime.

I got my ppp userid and password. After creating a new connection wizard (pppoe) in my system, I am typing my userid and password. But ‘Error 691’ is coming. Its telling userid and password not in domain. If I am sure of my userid and password how can I get such error?

    Either you connect
    (a) dialer mode with USERID PW entered in computer window
    (b) "Always On" PPP/PPPoE mode Useridand PW entered in WAn page of modem.
    Select one option.

    Para two:
Password change need not be attempted now.
Without knowing your PW you cannot use a dialer.
How many Telephone exchanges in Bangalore?
Obviously the Exchange where your telephone line is connected !.
Do not divulge password to anyone accessing your computer..
