Hi,
What is your maximum upload speed on BSNL boradband ? I get 6k to 10 kB
promissed download speed is 256kbps = 32KB/sec .
it is ADSL connection . max upload speed = 8 KB/sec .
if one gets 6 - 10 KB/sec then it is said to be okay .
Yeah but shouldnt the upload speed be more. I had sify and upload speed was same as download speed.
Hi All,
According to what i am aware of BSNL gave an order dated dated 15.5.2002 and circular number 106-6/99 PHC . Where BSNL has set up there network with nodes at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkota and Bangalore and they gave differnt rates for differnt speeds. I am pasting here there plans.

If you need any more information as to what speed BSNL promises to give its customers do PM me.

Well this is ASDN line so we have some low uploding speed. So far i got max. 12.3 KB/sec so i voted for 6 to 10 KB/s.
We should have more answers to choose from rather than just two. I can see other members getting more speed like me but we dont have the right option to select in the poll.
it should be between 6K to 12K.. as per calculations.. if its less.. its now time to call BSNL and listen to there music
Dude I Am Getting 6~10kBps On My Torrent.....But On Max Leechers It Goes Upto 14kBps....How I Get An Average Of 4kBps......I Heard That BSNL Has Capped The Upload Speed......
I use uTorrent and my avg UL speeds are about 27-28 KBps. No issues over here
No idea how I did it... hehe.. I mean I did not mess around with any setting. Maybe I'm just plain lucky. Although I'm the only one in my area with a BSNL connection (could be 2-3 more but definitely more than that). That could play a role in my speeds. Only god and BSNL guys know.
I know the limited UL speeds suck, esp on pvt trackers.
Hi
I am megha Syam , i think you can get this info from the dataone.in web
unfortunately , i have visited your fourm recently and have seen those posts and i would be sad to say that i work with BSNL in an officer rank.
I look after BSNL Broad band and i think i may be of llittle help.
usually BSNL provides its services in differenct speeds depending on the plan package like:
home 250 : 256 Kbps : 1GB
home 500 : 256 Kbps : 2GB
home 1000: 384 Kbps : 5GB
and other Business plans
but from Jan1, 2007 it has given a 2Mbps speed access to every one ,i.e your speed can reach upto 2Mbps ,which i can assure is not possible every time ,but 1.4 download and 640 upload is quiet possible and this i can tell as i have verified multiple times.
the best part of bsnl Broadband is that it charges on the basis of Mb downloaded after your prescribed limit is over
Sorry to interfere here ...!
I've the 900 plus plan ... I never get a speed above 256kbps, i.e. a max download/upload spped of 32KBPS.
I dont know if I'm right in saying the following-
BSNl has not increased the speed limit to 2mbps all over the country. If you are speaking about a sepcific area, then it may be ok.
I stay in Pune. At least in Pune it hasn't happened yet!
Lol
Well actually the increased speeds have affected only the customers in the above mentioned plan. i.e. Home 250, Home 500, Home 1000 and business plans. The speeds for "Plan900 plus" has not changed at all and I think it is already mentioned on the dataone website. I think you misinterpreted what "lakkuMS" was trying to say. He was clarifying on the speeds issue for customers of limited bandwidth plans. These speeds do not apply to your plan at all.
Cheers
Vzx
thanks for the info......!![]()

It feels nostalgic to look back on my posts right now and wonder at that unique "sense of achievement" I got when I upgraded to BSNL 2mbps plan. Right now, I'm in philadelphia and my university has a 1Gbps connection and things are blazing fast
- Can't even imagine speeds lower than this as of now... hehe
hey i get upload speed of 25-30 kbs man. its fine wid me![]()
Are you guys are using Unlimited Plans..
In my Home 500C plan i usually get 80 - 85 kBps upload speed.
My average download speed is 220 - 250 kBps for good torrents.
Look my UTorrent Speed Graph.
: Another point is to be noted is the difference between kBps and KBps :
Kilobyte (KB or K) = 1024 bytes (2 ^ 10) "binary kilobyte"
kilobyte (kB) = 1000 bytes (10 ^ 3) "decimal kilobyte"
Kilobit (Kb) = 1024 bits (2 ^ 10) "binary kilobit"
kilobit (kb) = 1000 bits (10 ^ 3) "decimal kilobit"
KBps = Kilobytes (1024 bytes) per second (binary)
kBps = kilobytes (1000 bytes) per second (decimal)
Kbps = Kilobits (1024 bits) per second (binary)
kbps = kilobits (1000 bits) per second (decimal)
bps = bits per second
Usually :
256 kbps = 32 kBps
I m BSNL user under 750 unlimited plan. At first I took 125 Home Plan their my Bitcomet Down rate speed is 100+KB/S but when I replace to 750 unlimited my Bitcomet speed goes down its only 30 kb/s not more than that.
When I check my routter setting I saw that my DSL Speed showing 1020/2013 KBPS same routter I checked in my office DSL Speed showing 256/2048 KBPS.
I made a complaint to BSNL Depart. At first they said that under 750 plan 30 to 40% speed goes down. I said why ? then they gave me another excuse now they said that it may be your telephone cable problem. After that I changed my cable & I change my pair also. Then also same problem.
dude in 750 plan the up n down speeds are 256 kbps only ( 32 KB/sec)
u wil not get more than that
Upload speed maxes out to 256 kbps (32 kB/s).
My upload speed in utorrent (maximum) 40-45 KBps
i never used bsnl so dont know whats it_)))
i heard the speeds are ranging from 1kbps ul to 100kpbs ul not more than that depending the plan you buy....
I get max 20 KBPS upload speed if I'm lucky. Generaly with torrents its 16-18KBPS. Hate that really. In home750 I used to get 25 KBPS.
