Thread: BSNL BBand down since yesterday evening

Dear friends

I am facing an unusual problem since yesterday evening. I was able to use BSNL bband till 8:30 pm yesterday but after that it started acting weird.
I am using Dlink GLB 502T modem. All the Lights are on stating that the modem is connedted to the internet(I am on PPPOe mode).
But none of the pages are opening. I was using Open DNS ip's 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. I ran the network diagonistic utility of windows xp and it stated that the DNS names could not be resolved.
I then logged to the modem and tried using the ping utility of the modem and found that its not able to ping.
I then used a bsnl dns ip and it opened the google page and also gmail.but apart from these it could not open any other page.i switched to a couple of dns ips.didn't work.

I would highly appreciate if any of you can throw some light on this.

Start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.

In TCP/IP properties, select IP and DNS as automatic and try.

i too faced the same problem. everything became normal at some 3.15am today. i think it was some problem with bsnl

I too hope so. else getting things sorted with BSNL is *PIA*.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for things to run smooth when i get back from office.

Has anyone else faced the same problem..

am from kerala. my friend too had a similar experience. so its not our fault

ok guys seems like problem is solved.
should have been an issue with bsnl..

There is a lot of Trouble going with their OF Network which interconnect various equipment and even the Telephone Lines that reach our homes are some times far below standards which may not affect the speech, but will definitely affect the Broadband speed as well as connectivity
