Maintain status quo ! Only hope Post No 1 link.
For stable operation try GDMT. If Port forwarding problem,or option not available, post here.

@jee.ramesh.1983
MT841 FW update ==== reg
Download the firmware to say D:/mt841 firmware. The link may be deleted in Rapidshare and may not be available later. Even now you can check availability.
If at a future date you are advised /think FW is to be updated , Try then..
There is no query from you, reg any modem or surfing problem.

If your router is working as per your satisfaction, then do not upgrade the firmware. Never upgrade firmware simply because someone tell you to do so.

Remember the golden rule: If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Come on!! Is this really a question? OK. Answer these:

Major questions:
- Is your modem failing to connect consitently?
- Are you suffering slow speeds for no apparent reason?
- Do you feel that you are not getting some feature that is available in other router that would make your surfing life wonderful?
- Is your modem leaving security holes in your connection?
- What gains will you make by the update?
- Finally, will the firmware update fix any or all of the problems mentioned above?

Minor questions:
- Is the firmware update safe?
- Will your ISP continue to support you after firmware update?
- Firmware update requires that the modem needs to be power ON during the entire update process. Do you have UPS for modem?

I have never in my life updated firm ware for any modem I have ever used... They all worked fine and if something is working fine I dont see a need to make changes.. Its not the India cricket team we are talking about that would need experimenting from time to time

The only time I every tried to upgrade a firmware was my netgear router and after upgrading it started behaving strangely so I rolled it back

Let your ISP decide if you need a firmware update or not
