    Exclamation Configuration of DNA-A211-I modem

    Hi all,
I'm new to this forum.here is my issue.
I have been using BSNL broadband connection for quite sometime now.My old modem is a MT882 SmartAx modem.I plan on shifting to a wireless modem since i got a laptop.I currently have DNA-A211-I Bsnl modem.I'm unable to connect to the internet either through ethernet or wireless. How do i configue this modem to work? I tried some stuff but a screen keeps poping up asking me to connect and on responding positively i get a error message that invalid username and password.Should i enter user name password as i used to enter in the old modems? please guide as i need to return the modem to my friend at the earliest..

    If it is your friend's Modem/router/WIFI DNA A 211-I
test with your UserID/PW entered in the wan page

Test with Lan cable ONLY connected.
Then remove the LAN cable and test win WIFI mode.
If all ok , Delete your userID and PW from unit and return.

    Start/Network LAN or WLAN
( presume you have set up a WLAN
    Start/ Allprograms/Accessories/ Communications/
    Wireless network Wizard. )
    properties
    Network settings
    TCP/IP
    properties
    Select Obtain Ip address automatically.
    Use Present DNS or
    208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
    Apply Save.

    Action:
Make a back up of present router settings to say
    C:/My Documents/ DNA router settings.

Presume you have an "Always On" connection.
    1.
Confirm your UserId and PW are entered in the modem WAN page.

    2.
DNA A211-I may need a software update.
    later.

Care to mention what error ?

    1. Which mode do you use to connect ? PPPoE (Always ON) or Bridge (Dialer) ? PPPoE means you can connect to internet simply by switching ON the modem, in dialer mode, you need to click on " Connect " button in a dialer to connect to internet.

    2. If in dialer mode, do you get any error code ?

    3. What is the status of modem LEDs ? Mention each LED name and status (off / stable / blinking).

    4. If in PPPoE, using this link and counter check your settings

    New Page 1

    5. If nothing works, reset the modem and reconfigure it and check.

    6. Complain here and wait for BSNL to attend the issue
