Default what's the break up of bsnl charges for the 1st month of connection

I got a new bb connection from bsnl in september 2009 with a new telephone line under the scheme home 500 C+ (256k-2mbps , night unlimited, 2.5 gb limit during day 600 per month rent)
now the bill I got for september is
advanced rental deposit = 500 = 250 (this is how its written on the bill)
    broadband charge
    fixed charge to 300909= 340
    broadband usage 200909
    grs 28401 net 1258 =1006.4
    bb deposit = 600
    modem price+salestax =1600
    rest are taxes.

I checked my usage on the bsnl portal, there the chargeable units were 2702.2
which means the excess units were about 142 mb. so why am i charged for 1258 units? and what is rs 340(fixed charges) for? i didnt opt for a separate landline plan. it was supposed to be all included in the 600 bucks for home 500 C+.

I think you didn't got the connection on first. If your connection start on a later date, you will not get full 2.5 GB. It is trap by BSNL. I too thought I will get full limit even if my plan do not start on first.

Say if you got connection on 7 th you will loose 1/5 X 2.5 GB = 0.5 GB

    ( 6/30 = 1/5)

If you use anything excess of 2 GB, you will be charged. In your case, you are charged for 1258 MB instead of 142 MB.

Talk with the accounts officer. He may budge to your request.

    Smile @ meetdilip

yeah you are right. I gave the application on 4th but i guess i got the connection on 14th. so they must have added the extra charges.

But can't they be sued for this, coz, its not mentioned in any of their plan. and further they did not reduce my monthly charges for delaying the connection provision.

also.. does the account officer really listens to this kind of appeal or is it a wasteful effort?

again.. is this reduction in free download limit valid only when the connection is dead/not provisioned or is also applicable for the days i do not touch my internet at all (like for the past few days i was outta statn. will they reduce the free limit coz of that too?

    new with bsnl... plz help...

btw thanks dilip... it was really really helpful

    Welcome

This is a first month phenomena. It all depends how friendly the accounts officer is. Some of them are real good men. Hope you having one at your end.
