    Default Speed is not ACCEPTABLE

    I was using 750UL+.......and changed to 500C+.....for heavy and faster downloads during the Night UL option.
    But since the plan change,there is no improvement in the Download speeds.......which remain 20-25 KBps.......
    and have neverrrrrrrrrrr......surpassed the 35 KBps barrier.......(when i should be getting 150-200 KBps)
    IS it the same with all of you using the same plan..........Please Help!!!

    Talk to JTO of Exchange. They might have forgotten to
    connect to a faster speed server and you remain on 750U/L.
    Confirm IN MY orders in your Usage Portal
    ( with 14 digit portal ID and default PW password)
    the tariff plan has been changed.
    When you APPLIED for Change of plan ?
    Normally BSNL effects tariff change on 1st of the month
    ( exceptions possible )

    I applied for the change of plan on 12th OCT.....and it got changed from 15th...........
    Verified it by logging onto "10.240.43.216".......where it shows
    " Current Service Home 500 Combo Plus; speed upto 2 Mbps"..........
    But the speed is nowhere close to it,also went to nearest exchange to hear only that HOME 500 will give u tat desired speed as LL rental is charged in it........which was just disgusting............
    Feel like being bullied around

    BSNL wont change plan in mid of month....

    May be your plan is yet to be changed. New info that plan change occurred in the middle of the month. It does not happen normally. Talk to the Senior Divisional Engineer (SDE) and confirm your plan status. If plan is really changed, seek his help.

    I don't think so.I have seen plan changed in the middle of month.It all depends on that particular SSA.

    Yes my last plan change was effective from the 16th of last month. In terms of speed change I had opted for 8mbps but on the modem page (192.168.1.1) downstream rate showed as 2047 kbps (2mbps) so I kept calling bsnl about speed issue, then one fine day I checked and the downstream was 10239 kbps (about 8mb). So you need to check the figure in the modem page to see what is the actual speed and keep pestering the bsnl folks about it.

    I ACCEPT WITH WHAT dineshr1988 SAID !!!

    WHEN I ENQUIRED "SDE", HE SAID PLANS CAN BE CHANGED ONLY AT MONTH'S END, EVEN IF U GIVE REQUEST LETTER IN MID OF D MONTH..
