    Unhappy netgear WGR614 surfing issue

    hey guys.

i have been trying to get my router working for the last two days...here's my problem, will be greatful if any1 helps.

I hav configured the modem to PPP/PPPoe and 'always on' mode also have enabled the DHCP. My modem works fine if i wire it to my desktop, i can surf the net, download etc.

    After this

I have also configured my netgear router and connected Modem-Router (WAN port)--Desktop (LAN port). The connection is working (i think) because i can see the wireless network on my laptop and even connect to it. Even my gtalk gets logged in and i can call and ping others but heres the strange part- I cannot surf any sites except gmail and msn, the loading takes so much time that the explorer sort of gives up....

Now the strangest part is that my dad's laptop (HP windows XP Professional genuine) connects to my wireless and he can easily surf and access all sites.(with speeds same as wired)

I just cannot daignose the problem. I have re-configured my modem and th router with the same results. The connection is getting established (As gtalk is working fine) but can't surf website.

    heres my ipconfig

    C:\Documents and Settings\Adminstrator>ipconfig /all

    If after trying openDNS option
    if same Problem:
Now the strangest part is that my dad's laptop (HP windows XP Professional genuine) connects to my wireless and he can easily surf and access all sites.(with speeds same as wired
Check your browser is not "OFFLINE".
try a Different Browser say Opera.
    1.In your dad's laptop
    Start RUN type cmd Ok
    New window;
    type ipconfig /all
    2. same data for your laptop. and compare.
presume you are using an unsecured WIFI connection.

    Para 2: Problem:
    The connection is getting established
(As gtalk is working fine) but can't surf website.

When you are connected to GTALK
    Start run type cmd Ok
    New window
    type tracert Google
    Copy/paste Data here.

    Para three:
The settings of your WLANcard in laptop ( own):
IN TCP/IP properties see the top box.
    Click configure
Check Advanced: ssid ap half duplex etc.

Mention make /model of your adsl modem.
    Feedback.
