Default Are you getting the same speeds now also??

Hi, I have been using BSNL home 500 for 1.5 years now...... Since the last few months I hav been experiencing slow speeds.... Drop of speed from 220-230KBps to 180 KBps........
So, am I the only one having problems or this is a common problem.......??

    Please VOTE.......

From other posts I also saw that the people having heavy downloading are the ones who got their speeds reduced..... So, take this oppertunity to assess whether BSNL is blocking heavy uses like torrent guys......

We opted for BSNL for making the most use of their speeds...... Not to get our bandwidths throttled...... :40:

I have a hunch that they may be moving the heavy users to some particular server and offering slower download speeds so that they can support more new customers with current equipments..........

Can't this be a possible explanation???

I got my line checked many a time and still they can't find a local problem...... I heard the port setting is done at Bangalore..... The local BSNL authorities also say it might be a problem at Bangalore.............

    @vijaykhairnar
speedtest.net uses almost 15 MB for each test.

pleasecompare the result here uses about 3 MB.
    Airtel
    Bsnl speed test site unreliable.

Even download Manager , does not show a steady
download speed and i had observed even spurts
    above 400 KB/sec for a short duration.

    Your comments will be valuable.

I got 1.69 Mbps and 365 Kbps speed on Airtel site.

Speedtest uses 15 MB data for each test but it is reliable.

I think when download is small some sites may show wrong speed because of buffering download or upload.

One will get different download speeds from different servers. It is understood. It depends on the distance of the server from your PC. Mumbai server quite near than Chennai server or Singapore server.

Yes. BSNL has started controlling speed. Once, I & my friend used to get speeds upto 6 Mbps (literally) but now it gets saturated at 2 Mbps (250 KBPS max)
