Lately the speeds have been decreasing... Earlier I used to get 230+ KBpS always...
Now-a-days its very rare to see 200+
I reckon this is because BSNL is adding users like mad, but are doing nothing to improve the lines! The Internet is supposed to run on different cables than the stupid flat cables on which the telephones run, but BSNL officials are shying away from changing the cables of existing users citing technical difficulties!

That's understandably the speed you must get for that speed of the connection you are upgraded to and its most welcome news

I wonder whether you are getting confused with Kbps and KBps(capitalB), because, B=8*b
B is for byte(8 bits) and b for a bit
mean time you may try to provide the type of modem and the speed and SNR values by going to 192.168.1.1 and using admin and admin as username and password.
    seek device info-- statistics-- adsl
then capture the page and upload here so that you could be guided.
BTW, you did not indicate the place you are from.
it also helps as some members right from your place wold be sharing the issues.

    1. No one on this earth expect BSNL can help you if problem is with you telephone line.

    2. Home 500 , Home 500C and Home 500C+ provided speed UPTO 2 Mbps.

Which means BSNL can give speed between 256Kbps to 2Mbps. On an average you should at least get 150Kbps.

Hence again talk to your local exchange officers so that they can check if there is any problem with your port on BSNL servers.

I agree 80 Kbps download speed is too low for Home 500 plans.

i don't understand why you are just keeping double spacing and wasting pages with no message?
you are expected to press the "port statistics" and a page would appear. Store that page. you can use MS paint to remove all unwanted and save it as .PNG instead of JPG, then upload.

this info is of no use dear. post your SNR and Attenuation rate values from router so that if thats the cause of low speed then you can tell BSNL to fix this line issue.

if your SNR and Atten. values are ok then no one can help you except BSNL.

also make sure that your modem is set at GDMT mode.
i am not sure of where this option is located on router page. just explore your router and i am sure you will find it.

fantastic stats. Line is all clear.

problem might be with port at BSNL server.

only option is to meet senior officer and talk to him. tell hime that you only get 50 Kbps.
they might allot a new port to you on server which might help.

as i said its UPTO 2 Mbps which means you can get anything between 256Kbps to 2Mbps.

    however most people get 150Kbps.

try to understand this..its UPTO 2Mbps and not FIXED 2 Mbps

256kbps means 30kbps download speed we will get right....
i also got decived that word..and took 750 unlimited plan

thn i relaised and changed to 500 plan to get more download speed
again it is running around 80kbps

i have invested all my pocket money without telling my dad
and now iam getting just this much speed.
any alternates to get download speed of 210kbps download speed???
    please suggest

let me tell you again. you cant do anything to get 210 Kbps download speed using any software or any other thing.
its purely BSNL server side issue and ONLY they can solve it.
