Default Average speed in BSNL Broadband 500 c plane

In my connection average download speed I get is 150-180 kbps .
Usually this speed comes only 10-12 days a month (on average).......as bsnl server is always down and there are frequent disconnections .

The maximum download speed I have got till now is 202 kbps (which is very rare).

    Is this speed is okay.

how much download speed u get ????

Is there any one who get 220 to 256 kbps or above this (as a average).

please tell about how much speed u get........

    1) Select any of the server and click on it to start the test. for example say Mumbai, Chennai, Sydney

    2) When you click any of the available server your test will start as shown below.

    3) Your test is over you will have your results on your screen. Just click on Copy Forum Link and paste it on your thread text-box.

certainly no and at times it touches that figure when I suppose nobody else is using. But these days the internal mechanism has been changed and we should be able to get better speeds

Hey for me this is great coz i am using the same plan from Assam. I currently am getting the max download speed of 310 kbps (although once in a blue moon). The max. download speed for rapidshare and megaupload is currently at 270kbps(stable).......but for torrents its only 234kbps!!! For the upload rate in torrents its at the max of 57kbps!!

Sorry for the probs with the kbps and kBps......i m meaning about the k""ps having more weight......that which we normally use!!! Jai ho~~

that should be more than enough for the speed package and eventhough you need to remember with torrents and download accelerator always speed increases

theoretical maximum speed speed of ADSL line in laboratory conditions is
    24000kbps:
    = 3000 KB/sec [Kilobyte-per-second]
    = 3 MB/sec [Megabyte-per-second]

but since we don't live in a lab practical speeds differ from line to line.
+ bsnl caps all of our connection according to our "plans".

below url will show you your lines "distance" from ISP. It also tells about wat speed you must expect.
    Fremnet.net

PS: Downstream attenuation (dB) value is in your
    routers menu->status->modem status.

yeah that is true and understandably it varies from plan to plan and there are other factors affecting to the speed as well

i think current ADSL 2+ technology can provide speed upto 45 Mbps.
