Default Auto power on and off

Use "Autopower shutdown"software to switch on and off the computer from 2 to 8 set the password for your system and make it hibernate at 8am.
use scheduler to turn on and off the utorrent.
use this command to create a batch(.bat) file and schedule it at 8am

    @echo off
    TASKKILL/F /IM uTorrent.exe

    1. Download "Imran's Broadband Helper Utility" from Imrans Broadband Helper Utility.
    2. Install the software.
    3. Goto "C:\Program Files\Broadband" folder and run Autoconfig.exe and click on Start button.. its output will look like :-
    4. Click on save button (it will save the script as test.script in the same folder).
    5. Rename the file test.script to Broadband.script (delete old Broadband.script file).
    6. Run Broadband.exe (it will come in system tray).
    7. Goto the modem tab.
    8. Click on Test button (after a few seconds you will see DONE/FAIL)
    9. If you see DONE then.. just configure the times at which you want reboots (don't forgot to check "use modem reboot service").
    10. Schedule a reboot after two minutes and notice the result.
    11. Check the log file after reboot.
Hope this will solve your problem.

Auto dial discussed here will work only in Bridge mode. Since you connect more than one machine, you might be in PPPoE mode. Try this

Using low level cryptic and obscure modem code is simpler than downloading a ridiculously easy 3rd party scheduler ?

Come on now, seriously guys ?

Windows scheduler doesn't fail. It only fails if you mess up the configuration.

Personally I use Free download manager, windows scheduler and Vuze's scheduler plugin (to prevent vuze from downloading in case i have it open accidentally).

Default easy way is with software

    rapidshare.com/files/309489521/cidial31_DrXJ.zip.html

    or

    www-mininova-org/tor/3167926

this is a software for connecting (dailup or broadband)internet connection automatically at a specific time you wanted using windows schduled tasks

**************most useful for night time downloaders*********

after downloading and installing the software open "CiDial.exe" on desktop and
go to "settings" enter the required fields and the connection then connect
this can be used to connect the internet automatically at start up by copying the"CiDial.exe (shortcut on destop)" to ""start(button)>all programs>startup>""
it even redails faster than the windows dailer

now got to schudled tasks and set the "CiDial.exe" to a time u needed

If you switch to bridge mode, you can easily use the batch files. All ports are open. But you cannot use multiple machines at the same time. Also use a good firewall.

    I have a doubt.... Suppose I have a usual modem like ut300r2u....
If I add a wifi router to it, then i will be able to use more in more than one system right?
I mean ut300r2u in bridge mode and wifi roter, say Belkin in pppoe mode.......
Can I use it that way?

The main reason for bringing this up again is because so many are still searching to find a way to automate downloads.....

you will need to configure your modem to work in BRIDGE mode for this to work.....

Steps to configure UT300R2U modem is here, also given is how to create a dialler.....

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...reduced-2.html (Home 500 + UT300R2u bandwidth suddenly reduced)

Some do say bridge mode is a bit of a hassle, but i find no problems with it whatsoever till now.....

I tried this on xp-sp2 and should work on vista as well, I hope......

All you need to do is put the system in Hibernate mode and make the windows scheduler run a command file at say, 2.15am (to make sure we don't start before 2am......)
Make sure your modem is also ON..... Don't worry, in bridge mode unless you log in from the dialer internet won't be connected......

    Code:
    @ECHO OFF

    :CONNECT
    rasdial connection-name username password
if NOT %ERRORLEVEL% ==0 GOTO FAILED
    EXIT

    :FAILED
    GOTO CONNECT

copy paste this into notepad, replace connection-name with your dialer name, username with your bsnl id, password and save as connect.cmd.........
next step is to make the windows scheduler to run this file at 2.15am....

note:To make the windows scheduler work you will need atleast an account with password on your computer..... This is no problem..... If you log in every time as Administrator, just create a password for it (like xyz or 123 or anything).............. Or create a new account with password.....

Lastly make your torrent client run at say, 2.16am.....

By the way, I'm using XP-SP2 with UT300R2U modem, Utorrent..........
seems to be very good idea and i will try this one and i am not sure its all that simple to do this
