Default 2 connection doubling the speed

Is it possible to double the internet speed or rather bandwidth by using similar internet connection??

Like can 2 BSNL home 500 plan speed be merged to get a speed of 4MBps???

    @sumit020
Rather you should welcome his "solution".
Presume he has gone through at least two
threads on this ubject in this forum.

    @sraban2003
1.Agreed. You need TWO different modems/routers to
connect to same ISP with two different IDs
    on same telephone line.
    2.Waiting for details from you..
With only one modem you can connect to only one ISP.
    3.
    waiting for the set up
    with a speed test report.

I only wonder whether we need to be so much speed conious that we distinguish minor variations.an Operator offering speeds reaching up to 2Mbps, does not exactly mean he gives those speeds eternally and during traffic congestion times also.

I am of the opinion, that we flock up and try even automated downloads during the so called Free hours and are responsible for the congestion. Then feel dissatisfied as our dreams not realised,
obviously as we cant blame ourselves, we try blame the service providor.
the same things happen on road traffic even.

sraban2003 it is possible. I personally do this things even I post some screen shot here. You will get the 4Mbps speed if you have two Home 500 connection.
Only you have to know the trick.

sraban2003 I am really interest to know your process. If possible post here.

Today I just tried a very simple steps. Used 2 adsl router configured in PPoE mode with same speed of 1.8Mbps with diff userId. In my system installed 2 NIC card and connected this two router.
Gave 4 movies to download from torrent (Had sufficient num of seed ). Used UTorrent. It reached a max speed was 190KBps and was steadily downloading 4 movies.

Now I gave a direct download from symantec server.. and Ouo it downloaded a file with a speed of 240KBps.

So virtually my bandwidth is 4Mbps.

I think its the most simple way to increase ur bandwidth.

Instead of using 2 NIC card guys with laptop can make use of one NIC card and other WLAN card.

    @sraban2003
    QUERY Post No 1.
Like can 2 BSNL home 500 plan speed be merged to get a speed of 4Mbps???
May be your LATEST solution works. Post No.10. Congratulations.
Will wait for feedback from other members with more technical
    data ( like speedtest.net showing >3Mbps speed etc ).
    Para two:
This information may be out of date :
Please see this website by a MVP "Microsoft Most Valued professional".
    Loadbalance Internet Connections

    1. Combining Bandwidth.
    2. Load Balancing two connections.
Let assume that you have two 3Mb/sec. connections each capable to download at 300KB/sec.
With Combined Bandwidth you should be able to download one file at 600KB/sec.
With Load Balancing one single file will not exceed download speed of 300KB/sec. However you can download 2 files at 300KB/sec. or 4 files at 150KB/sec. etc.
Unfortunately Combining Bandwidth can not be done without the ISP providing such a specific service.

Computers are Not mind readers. If the two connections are not synchronized at the source your computer would know how to combine it to a coherent page.
Any if and but about it is just Wishful thinking.
The price of such a service (if available) is usually much more expensive than upgrading your connection from the basic service to a faster business or corporate service.

So you are able download at 240KBps...... so how it is virtually 4 mbps???
Because 4mbps = 512KBps (Kilo Bytes Per Second)......
Can you show me your speedtest results?
Only 190 KBps in torrent..... bu**sh*t, average home500 connection can also reach that speed.... so what you are doing is wasting your money on two connections......

    First thing

I am not doing any load balancing. tats practically not feasible from any home user side.
    @ above
Its just tat i used two connection. 2 connection will have 2 diff IP address.
Now downloading torrent at 190KBps and a direct downloading from symantec site a file at 240KBps SIMULTANEOUSLY is not possible to achieve by an average HOME 500 USER.. Keep in mind I use the word SIMULTANEOUSLY.

I suppose cost wise its not much effective:nono:. But yaa if u want to download a lot of files within short duration its good option.

One one prob!!!! May be some member will m help out with a solution!!

BSNL Speed test site fails to open!!! Any suggestion. Its not down as when i use a single connection i am able to do speed test.

lolzzzz when you have 4 Mbps bandwidth your download speed should be 512 Kbps

and when you are using 2 BB connection of 2Mbps each i cant see how you have added it so that it looks like 1 connection of 4Mbps.

What you have did is just took 2 connections and used it independently.....nothing gr8 or new in it.

i have merged three unlimited GPRS connections, all are BSNL gprs 200 rs. per month each.
Speed is better that BSNL's UL 750 Plan (66 KBps approx.) and i save my money every month. The drawback of this connection is you can't use it in utorrent.

Why only gprs? Don't your mobile have EDGE or 3G facility?
My mobile with EDGE facility (Nokia 6681) gives better speed than your Idea (98 KBps) at very cheap rate 98 rs./pm (aircel connection)....
And by the way why can't you use it in uTorrent? Means you are spending whole 600 rs. & you are not able use it in uTorrent! What a waste....
