hey guys, have anyone been using speed combo 1111 (upto 2Mbps) 15GB limit/month. though speed test shows 1.7Mbps, im kind of not happy with the way pages load. speed is very much intermittent. i feel something is wrong.

few months back, i have used combo 500, which is also upto 2Mbps. felt it was much better!!

please reply abt this, if anyone has experienced speed combo 1111 plan.

If your web pages are loading slow... try open dns
Which browser do you use? Increase its cache size....

I think you got it right. My direct downloads are faster arnd 1.6 Mbps. But pages are not loading that faster when it has lot of images and scripts running.

I use chrome/firefox. I also think chrome doesn't have any such feature to change the cache size. i can only clean it up. let me try that. anyother options guys??

I use Opera personally.... it is best browser...(In my opinion)

Hey Chrome is really faster and I have been using it for almost an year or so. I use the dev build(latest). I had problems initially and then as suggested, I tried clearing the cache/cookies and history, which fixed my problem, I guess!! Thanks to Sumit020!!

The download speed as per the plan which is really gr8!! Getting arnd 1.7Mbps at max and average speed would be 1Mbps.

@ whoever is wishing to go for this plan, I would recommend, if they dont mind the cost of Rs.1111+tax. Because the speed is much better than Combo 500+, which is also upto 2Mbps. But mostly I have got only 0.7Mbps.

I also tested with few downloads. 700MB takes arnd 1hr35mins.

So this plan speed combo 1111 delivers what it says with the price for it. For the first few days I had problems as I said earlier, which was due to my browser issues, which is also fixed now.

If my suggestion has solved your problem... may I ask you repo...
But the plan has 15 GB limit.... at 1111rs. per month you better gone with airtel... it gives unlimited download.... I think Home 500C+ is better plan than Speed Combo 1111.....

With IE 8.0 is its simply amazing. With the Combo 1111 my downloads are at 1 Mbps..

But as otheres have said its a real pain that BSNL does not offer what they say..

You know Speed Combo 1111 is upto 2Mbps. Isn't it bad that u r getting just 1Mbps, though the plan is a special speed combo and you are paying more than combo 500+.

I have been getting arnd 1.7Mbps most of the time with this speed combo.

Combo 1111 seems like a pretty rubbish plan.
Home 1000 or Home 1800 is far better.
Not only do the new plans not have unlimited night time downloads, BSNL also has FUP implemented in them so the speed you actually get is a lot lower than advertised.

Please don't be gullible and be fooled by such (almost) fraudulent schemes.

I dont think so. based on my usage. Im not justifying.... but here is more info..

I normally use 10GB p.m mostly in the daytime and so now I need not bother abt the limit as I will be very much within 15GB. Also speed is good.

In contrary, for home 1000, anyhow there is rental for the land line. So I guess BSNL has planned such a way to give various plans.. but the effective cost remains the same!!!

Users with limited download under any plan
1.Use FireFox Browser with add ons Adblock/Flash Block/NoScript
etc to almost double your download.

See same images/flash etc, if you want everyday .

2. Opera Blocks Images and shows cached images
3. IE : can block images. ( see under IE options Advanced)
4. Google Chrome - not tried.
5. AVANT- using but not checked.
POPUPs usually blocked by all browsers.

Best Choice FIREFOX with add-ons mentioned above.
( Also an add on to switch to IE from the browser)

Disabling automatic update (windows and other software, particularly antivirus etc), making sure to turn off any torrents at 7:45 and starting them at 2:15
is a good idea since they wil consume a large portion of your download quota.

Streaming video/audio is also best left for free night time use.

Imo plans with unlimited night time downloads are better since you can quite easily schedule torrents and other p2p tools to turn on during that time and easily download 30-40gb or more during that period.
