Default Huawei WA1003a Win Xp64 drivers?

I was using xp32 with WA1003a (type2 i guess) ADSL Router/Modem provided by Bsnl at the time of installation.

Due to work requirements I recently shifted to xp64 but now I cant find drivers for it anywhere. I'm wondering if there is no one else using Bsnl broadband with this modem on xp64. Kindly help if possible.

The above link has drivers for this router/modem but its not working for me. Can anyone confirm if its working for them on xp64

    Thanks:001_huh:

WA1003-A has LAN USB PORT and WLAN.
USB drivers update/s difficult to get.
Also OS may reject driver/s during Installation,
    and yourcomputer may crash.

    How many computers you have?
Are you using LAN PORT for desktop ?
need Usb Port for another Desktop ?
Better to get a wlan card and use the WIFI facility.

I'm only using one desktop pc and is connected to modem through LAN port. USB connection also worked on xp32 but LAN cable is what I used normally

Wifi is a solution but it'll cost me. That I'll do if there is no other way but all I can get away is with xp64 driver or any support/solution from another xp64 user

Kindly explain clearly if possible. I might not know in details about other options as i am using xp32 for last few years with no probs

    Thanks for ur quick reply

What happened to your LAN card. It is working now. A new LAN card will cost only around Rs.500. Use the ethernet port in PPPoE mode.

I have LAN card onBoard(nforce) and i hope it doesn't support wifi. Some hardware guy told me that a new Wifi supporting LAN card is not so cheap.

If you are talking about running my current LAN card in PPPoE then I think I'll take some time to search and learn what it is and how to configure so:48:
If u can... plz explain or point me to some good links(without www, com, and html as I'm on my 4th post).

Thanks for the tip anyway. Meanwhile I'm still looking for some xp64 user

    @langoor
connected to modem through LAN port. ( explain please
USB connection also worked on xp32
( *cable with USB connector to modem one end
and another USB connector to computer ?

but LAN cable is what I used normally
    RJ45cable( 8wire ) with connectors at both ends ?
similar to telephone Rj11 connectors ?

    All confusing
    Para two;
if there is a PCI slot in your desktop get
one 64 bit compatible LAN ethernet card. get a rj45 cable.
    Cost above Rs 500 .
Wif Lan card cost about Rs 1000/= and
    you need additional
wif router cost above Rs 1500/=

Para two ; If Router on rent from BSNL exchange for
    TYPE B ( sl2 _141 or WA 3002-g4 or ITI DNA A211-1 etc )
or buy a new one for Rs 1600/= plus taxes.

    Para three ;
Get details of your Built in Nforce LAN ethernet card
    from Device manager.

or post the MotherBoard details. ASUS etc.

Desktop computer assembled or commercial model like Dell/HCL/
    etc. Give details.

    Hi dude,

I have the same modem, it is the type II modem used to be earlier provided by BSNL..

The WA1003A USB will not work without the right drivers. Unfortunately, there aren't any USB drivers around for Linux 32/64 or Windows 64 bit systems.

For windows XP 64 bit, I used the LAN port, or a WiFi device. Both LAN and Wifi drivers usually support 64bit systems.

The WA1003A already has a wireless access point. You could enable it through the 192.168.1.1 config. page. You could get the LAN 64bit drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website.

So I would suggest either invest in a Wifi device (USB or PCI), or use the LAN port, with the 64bit drivers.

    Regards

Thanks for the kind help guys. Now I'm somewhat getting your point. I guess I need to find how to use the LAN port under 64-bit.

I'm using two system disks for now, one with xp32 and other with xp64.
On 32 bit xp I'm connected to my ADSL modem via ethernet cable and it works fine. I've tried USB cable for a check and it works as well
    .
On 64-bit, usb is not an option(no drivers available).
Now I'm assuming the ethernet CAT cable from my Desktop PC to router is all I need . I get an error (WAN Miniport pppoe) as I try to connect. On xp32 i get this error only when Internet service is down from BSNL(3rd led is off).
Now is it router requiring some installation under 64bit or me not aware of any configuration(sorry but terms like PPPoe, subnet mask...i don't know about them)

Just first tell me..(DO MY ROUTER NEEDS A DRIVER IF NOT CONNECTED VIA USB?)

    My Hardware details--

    Assembled Desktop PC
    AMD Athlon X2
    Motherboard-- ASUS M2N-MX
    Chipset--NVIDIA GeForce 6100/nForce 430
    LAN--NVIDIA MCP61P built-in Gigabit/ MAC with external Attansic PHY

wireless fucntion of router i think is not usable for me as I'm not having a wifi card right now

    RAM--4gb DDR2
    Winxp 64-bit SP2

Your router doesn't need any drivers for using windows XP 64.

But for your LAN port to be recognized under windows XP 64, you need the 64 bit drivers for the LAN port.

These drivers can easily be found on the motherboard's driver CD, or the website.

Having once installed these drivers, your other question regarding IP address, subnet mask etc. arises. I guess you could use the values in the XP 32 bit config. as a guide
(or let us know those values in xp 32 bit, and we'll accordingly change the values for xp 64 ... however that comes later)

If the lan port is working as stated above , no need.
( of course drivers are needed . They can be upgraded

    May not be easy.
    As suggested here,

    OPTION
you can get a LAN ethernet card
    ( realtek/Febronics usually)
for this ethernet card ,drivers for x64 may be available. ( year 2007)
