| Junior Member | I have a lenovo laptop with bsnl wi fi conn.I noticed in the config page that it states "DHCP not enabled."What is the role of dynamic host configuration protocol when there is the IP address and DNS?what will be the benefit for websurfing if DHCP is enabled?i was told that DHCP not enabled is the factory setting for my laptop. Please clarify on this. These details are seen when i click run get the cmd prompt and enter'ipconfig/all" and click enter.I am able to see my IP address and MAC address and this note too about DHCP. shall be thankful for a clarification on this.
