hello guys am under the home 500c plan...am using idm 2 download files. my speed that i currently get while downloading from it is around 200-220kbps. is it the maximum speed i can get? what should i do to improve my speed?

Its UPTO 2Mbps = UPTO 256 Kbps Max you can get as download speed. But if you get anything above 200 then you are lukcy and you cant do anything to get more speed as it all depends on your ISP and Network congestion.

IDM is BEST.

its UPTO 2 Mbps and not ALWAYS 2 Mbps.

So when you connect to Net, you can get anything in between 1Mbps , 1.7 or 1.8 Mbps. and hence speed varies...

so what am gettin is good enough u say dude...bcos am totally blank.

yes anything above 200Kbps is gr88888.... so dont worry about it.

You need to worry only when speed drops below 32Kbps. because BSNL says net conn is upto 2 Mbps....so they can provide anything between 256 Kbps to 2 Mbps. But avg is 1.5- 1.8 Mbps.

Upto 2 Mbps speed means 2048 divided by 8 256 KB/sec
Means Ideally an 1MB file should be downloaded in 4 seconds ( *conditions apply )
you have reported 200 to 220kbps . presume it is 25KB/sec to say 28 KB/sec.
( IN IDM also speed will not be constant )
speed in torrents not reliable.

Check your speed here. Download and upload.
Airtel uses about 2 .6 MB
speedtest.net each server test: uses about 15 MB.
that is your speed ( can increase /decrease depending on net conditions )
