    Question BSNL Laptop conncetion wows!!

    hi all i am at my wit ends to connect my vaio laptop to my WA3002G4 wireless router..i am able to browse on desktop..howver wheb i try to connect thru lappy, it says limited connectivy..

    my ipconfig /all shows

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 169.254.130.208 (shuld not it be 192.168...)
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

    PPP adapter Broadband:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 59.95.215.34
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 59.95.215.34

    i am not able to open my modem config page,192.168.1.1.
    i manually entered all above adapter settings (59.95...)in my lappy , no succerss..kept it on auto obtain mode..no success

    pleas help..how do i access my modem config page at first place

    tried typing /pinging 192.168.1.25..no avail..also at the moment my desktop pc adapter ar all set to auto obtain ip add...miniport ppoe..

    am i supposed to manually enter all those settings s shown in link..i am afraid i wil lose desktop connxn also

    please note that i can browse on laptop when i conect it to router modem with wires..wirelessly not

    Since you can connect to Internet
    check your present Dynamic IP
    What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address
    enter it in browser address bar.
    Access to modem/router may be available.

    please note that i can browse on laptop when i conect it to router modem with wires..wirelessly not
    Does the wifi ICON appear with a X mark in Task bar ?

    hi all...i just managed to open modem config page..

    1) i went to LAN/high speed icon >>properties>>>and entere 192.168.1.10, 255...def gateway 192.168.1.1....pref dns 61.0.0.5...61.1.96.69..

    once i logged on to 192.168.1.1 page..i changed to enable DHCP..

    now my ipconfig all shows...192.168.1.10 etc etc
    ppp adapter settings are same as previous (i.e 59.95.220.241 etc)..net bios over tcip diasabled

    do i now i have to configure anything on lappy for wi fi ?

    do i need to manualy input above settings (192.168.1.10) in adapter of lappy

    ....hi all,,I GOT ultimately my lappy connects to wireless internet..

    however i am not able to enable security in router config since once enabled ..wifi router is not detected from lappy..ny clue,,,

    is there a third party software to secure wi fi networks available

    no need to use 3rd party software. login to router page. all routes have and option to secure the wi-fi.

    just explore a little in router page.

    hi anil,but are u able to conect to router wirelessly...same settings i enter and my laptop not able to locate router in wifi

    same happened to me 1st time. so what i did is, i reset the router. then router was reset and reboot. i turned it off. turned off lappy.

    then started router , started Lappy. this time lappy detected a wireless conn and it connected automatically. then i went to 192.168.1.1 and i gave security key and all...thats it
    its now safe secure and working....
