Thread: strange problem with siemes sl2_141

hi few days back 20th October i purchased a brand new modem from bsnl. they provided me with siemes sl2_141. i had asked for type 2 modem.
till 13th November it was working fine. however from 14th i see a problem. i can neither access the net nor 192.168.1.1. both my dsl and lan indicator are glowing.
i thought it was a problem with my Ethernet cable and so i plugged in my old modem, smart ax mt 882 purchased 4 years back. and surprise it was working fine and i could surf the net effortlessly.
since then my old modem has been working fine but the new one is utterly useless. yesterday night i was able to log in to my new modem with 192.168.1.1 but just that, wen i refreshed the page it showed page not available.
i had disabled my wireless connection few days back, is it due to that

Snce you have a standby ( old ) modem
Reset Sl2-141 to factory settings and
try a Dialer mode connection.

The reset access point is at the bottom
of the unit. see under the right leg.
a small round hole. Use a ball pen refill
to access the microswitch. Power on for 20 to 30 seconds.

never expected a reset modem there
however i dont know if its linked or not
i just paid this months bill
and the modem started working
