    Post wifi router

i have a beetel 450 bxi router initially used for airtel wifi connection. rite now i have a bsnl broadband connection. can this router be used for converting bsnl conctn to wifi or will i have to use a new router? the thing is, when i switch on the router an airtel network gets detected by my computer. so i want to know whether this router can be used for a bsnl connection.

The vpi/vci for BSNL is 0 and 35.

Assuming earlier settings for Airtel have not been changed .
If you are using Dialer mode
    enter BSNLUserID and PW
you may get connected to Bsnl Broadband.Internet.

    To create a dialer see
    http://www.calcutta.bsnl.co.in/datao...l/pppoe08.html
    Para two:
    If not
see this link for similar modem/router
for settings in your Beetel 450BX.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...reference.html (UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference)

confirm you get connected in LAN/ethernet mode.
For WIFI refer Chennai BSNL. link

when i switch on the router an airtel network gets detected by my computer
Makes no difference. you can change the name later.
Confirm you get connected to BSNL Internet
    now in LAN mode.
    VPI/VCI 0 and 35
    2
    IF NOT
There is a reset microswitch at the bottom
( near right leg small round hole ).
With power on use a ball pen refill tip and press gently for about 10 to 20 seconds.
    OR
a RESET switch at the rear.

The unit's settings are restored to factory settings.
Then use your dialer and enter Bsnl useId PW to connect.
    If not
    open 192.168.1.1 admin password
( if supplied by Airtel ) or admin

    Feedback.

    @vingo
How did you connect to Internet when you
    connected to BSNL before reset?
    1.

Dialer Mode ( should work now !.)
You enter USERID PW in computer window
    Or
    2.
"Always On" your USERID PW entered
    in the modem WAN page.
    Modem starts
automatically connected to Internet ( settings correctly done )when switched on.

    see this post
and select a site/link with screen shots.
First try LAN mode for BSNL
    Wifi mode later.

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...reference.html (UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference)
How do you connect to internet now ? wth which modem?
I am available in this forum till 1300 PM.

If it is getting detected in vista laptop then it will get connected also select your wifi network with the SSID given in router and click connect it will work for sure.

Your WiFi Network will be displayed like this....

Right Click on the Network SSID and select properties.

Give the same Security key stored in the Router.

If you are successfully connected to your WiFi Network in Vista then Network and Sharing center will look like this.

Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing center

    Please check and conform.

    PROBLEM
....also the the modem page does not open.....
Where is the reset switch at the bottom of 450BXI?
RESET with power on for 20 seconds .
Use a ball pen refill tip and press the microswitch.
    Factory settings will be restored.
Then try admin admin or password
    Feed back.

    Update: 1045
    In your computer
    START RUN type cmd
    OK
    New window opens.
    type ipconfig /all
Copy/paste data here. ( NO EDIT)
    you will get
    192.168.1.10
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1 (* THIS IS YOUR Modems's IP address )
    dns
    208.67.220.220
    208.67.222.222
    apply save. etc
