    Default please help!

    i have smartax mt882 modem and had configured to use bridged mode and used to dial to Internet. yesterday evening i got this error "Error 797 the modem could not be found". i tried removing the dial up connection and changed to ppoe mode and it connected right away to internet. but now when i create new dialup its unable to detect the network adapter and puts it as modem missing.

    Are you using the USB Port ?

    Can you access the modem settings in Dialer
    mode and see the Summary page ?
    Green icon is seen ? against 0_35 link ?
    "Note" ICON ?
    OR
    go to Diagnostics page and check fail
    components.

    also i recommend using lan cable as there are no bugs in it!

    Default am using LAN

    hi thanx for the suggestions . am using LAN and when try creating a new dialup connection it fails. my network is connected but when i dial it says unable to. i've attached a screen shot of how it looks. on another partition i have win 7 and there it works perfectly.

    i've tried uninstalling the network adapter and reinstalling. no go...

    I suspect that is temporary problem and it should be reseted by resetting modem and not sure for the exact reason though

    Are you having the problem with VISTA?
    unable to create a dialer to connect to Internet ?
    Earlier dialer working OK.....

    its vista. old dialer also giving the same message...when i create a new dialer its saying modem removed - unavailable device() in the properties.

    Additional info : in windows 7 no problem
    Dialer mode OK
    Now problem confined to VISTA OS

    Para two
    In Device Manager( VISTA )check any old 56k dialup modem is enabled. if so disable it. Uninstall the drivers. ( make a backup somewhere )

    UPDATE
    With OS VISTA selected
    post ipconfig /all data.
    Probably dialer files corrupted.

    i've attached the screenshot of ipconfig /all.

    also checked for any 56 dialup modem in device manager. none found

    Default VISTA error 797 cannot create dialer.

    PROBLEM

    problem with VISTA. Error 797
    unable to create a dialer to connect to Internet.

    Network Setup Wizard.... netsetup.cpl
    ( From XP PRO SP3 . likely to be same in VISTA) Files may be corrupt.

    If you have the INSTALLATION CD
    start run
    try sfc /scannow
    VISTA may replace the corrupt files.

    OPTION_2:________________________________________
    You may disable IPV6 in network settings.
    Para two:
    ipconfig /all data acceptable .

    tried the steps above. the sfc /scannow finished with errors which could not be fixed.
    went for system restore and that fixed the problem.

    thats great! it could be with some temp files and as being accessed by some other programs it did not succeed for the first time, may be
