    Default Something suspicious?

I was having a good experience all these days with BSNL home 500c.For the past few days since Nov 29th internet was absent .Since 2 days the connection was very intermittent and suddenly would break. Also the 3 rd (ADSL) light in my modem would keep on blinking (long blink) and would never stabilise for a long time. After being steady for some time it would start blinking (long blink) again and my connection would be lost.

I enquired a few days ago at the BSNL helpline and got a reply that the optical fibre cable got damaged in my area and is being repaired.

Is there any chance of malpractice here at the gateway end?

What kind of malpractice you are referring to

If the ADSL lights are not getting stable then there is problem with you line, and as conformed by bsnl about problem in your area.

I too had similar disconnection problem & my snr values are very bad too, but just tell bsnl to change your port, all problems will get automatically solved.

Can you be more specific on the "PORT" at BSNL. How do I get the SNR ,attenuation values from my Huwaei modem. Nowhere there seems to be listed.

Is SNR known by some other name?
