    Default Help Required-Configuring UTStarcom WA3002G4

    Hello
I'm a novice to this site and to computers also...
Need some help on configuring my 2 desktop PC's with UTStartcom WA 3002G4 router / modem (not sure what it is called )

    Existing Scenario:
I have 1 Desktop PC (say PC - "A") connecting to the Broadband modem and the other Desktop PC (say PC - "B") connected via Cross Cable to the PC - "A".
PC - "A" dials to the net and I share the connection direclty with PC - "B".
The BSNL router/modem is in a dialup mode i.e. I clk on the icon and dial manually whenever I need to connect to the Internet.

    Looking for Scenario:
PC - "A" connects to the Broadband router as it is - by clicking the icon and connecting to the Internet.
Instead of PC - "B" connecting to the Internet via PC - "A" (currently connected with a Cross Cable), I would like to connect it directly to the additional port available on the backside of the router / modem (4 LAN slots are available at the backside of the router / modem)

what should be configuration on the PC - "B" on the LAN card. How to setup a connection manually for PC - "B" so that it connects to the Internet directly? Do I need to make any changes in the router / modem ?

Can I dial from PC - "B" directly, even if PC - "A" is OFF?

Would appreciate a detailed reply from experienced users.

    warm regards...raja

    There are 2 options,

    1. Switch to always on mode and give static IP to both PC, this is the best option. But only drawback is when you swith on the modem it will be connected to the net.

    2. if you want to be in dialer mode, you can have the same setup in PC B to dial like PC A but both cann't connect at same time.

As far as my networking knowledge goes there is no other option.
