Default Need help to configure my modem so that i get proper speed according to my plan

    Hi,

I have a BSNL ADSL 2+ modem/router the configuration is perfect and i am in the Home1350 plan with modem type:2, and i use MAC OS X leapord, i have been accessing the internet perfectly. But i am not getting the intended download speed of 512 KBPS. My download reaches a maximum of 50 to 55 Kbp/second only.

The router device info shows the following too,

Line Rate- Upstream (Kbps) - 509
    Line Rate _Downstream (Kbps)- 2047
    Default Gateway - 117.192.192.1

I raised a complain but sought out to solve the problem myself.

Can any one help me out, if there are any configuration settings needed to tweek and increase the download speed. May be on the Router or Modem etc.

I would be really greatful if anybody can help me out. I am very new to network configurations.

    1. Go to speedtest.net conduct a speed test and post the result here.

    2. Try a download from Microsoft and check the speed.

    3. Try TCP/IP optimizer from speedguide.net
