Firmware updates are not recommended for BSNL provided routers. Never fix anything that isn't broken.

As Anil said, try a RESET and see whether that works. If not, and the router is within warranty, try to get an exchange. Do not mention what you tried to do. Just say that the modem is not working.

There is no official firmware available for WA3002G4, then from where you got one for upgrade...? Your router is of no use now, if within one year or on rental get it replaced from bsnl, dont tell them that you updated the firmware.

i wonder why our members are so crazy of firmware udates !!!
I perhaps feel , that it is a mania "I want to have the latest firmware". It would be a mis-adventure.

I definitely feel that we should try to best use existing firware.
as new firmware , if at all released, BSNL would upload in their sites
we need to check for it and then only search for a way out.
We should always remember that unlike, Desktop PC , we dont have means to restore to original position.

Firmware of any Devices should be updated only in following two conditions:

    1. The provider of the Device (here BSNL) has released the firmware update on their website.

    2. If the Device has a problem which can be resolved by the firmware update, i.e., the download page should mention that it will fix the issue.

If your router is not working after flashing the firmware, it may require service.

P.S.- Same goes for the firmware updates of your Computer's Optical Drive and BIOS updates.

Another thing to be kept in mind while flashing the Firmware is that you should have a constant power supply, if there is a power failure then it will result in a failure.

My post was in continuation to the post from itsmemad POST #9 (Router dead during software update)

    1. The provider of the Device (here BSNL) has released the firmware update on their website.

    2. If the Device has a problem which can be resolved by the firmware update, i.e., the download page should mention that it will fix the issue.
